A Refreshing Take on Long-Term Love

Love Reset is a hidden gem in the growing world of Korean short BL dramas. What makes it stand out is its unique focus on a couple who have already been together for seven years. Instead of showing the excitement of new love, it dives into what happens after the honeymoon phase, the communication gaps, the small misunderstandings, and the quiet distance that slowly grows between two people who still deeply care for each other.

The chemistry between the leads feels effortless. Their performances are so natural that you can almost feel their history and the weight of everything left unsaid. It is incredible how a 10-minute episode can carry so much emotion. Every glance, every silence, every line hits hard because it feels real.

Jae Hyeon is a busy man who forgets his seventh anniversary while U Jin is quietly missing love. The actor who plays U Jin, Seol Jong Hwan, is absolutely phenomenal. His crying scenes broke me and every tear felt so raw and real that I couldn’t help but get emotional watching him.

What I love most is how Love Reset captures the truth about long-term relationships. Love is not always perfect or easy. Even when two people have been together for years, they can still drift apart if they stop listening, stop appreciating, or simply get too busy. This show does not romanticize love, it respects it.

Short but powerful, Love Reset delivers more depth and emotion in a few minutes than some full-length dramas manage in hours. It is beautifully written, wonderfully acted, and emotionally satisfying.

A stunning cast, heartfelt storytelling, and a mature message about love and connection make this one a must-watch. I would give it a solid 8 out of 10, absolutely recommended for anyone who loves BLs that feel real and leave you thinking long after they end.

Unrealistic imho...

When you are seven years together, I don't get it, that you have not learned to communicate with each other yet. I did not feel really engaged with the story because for me it was unbelievable. I just don't get it, that they had the problem not much much earlier in their relationsship... Imho when you do not communicate your grievances a relationsship is not a relationsship, it's living parallel to each other not with each other.

I can't fault the actors and even the production quality is decent for such a low budget show. It's ok to binge-watch this and maybe you get more out of it, but for me it was just average, not really bad, but the story made not much sense for me.

Seven years to forever.....

People change and people in love are those who feel it the most. They grow comfortable with the pattern of living and most often it is the one who is more sensitive that struggles. Conversations are pushed aside for the drive to succeed at a job. Especially when one party is experiencing life at a slower pace and in a totally different environment and with a different set of friends. Over time, they drift apart, and the unspoken conversations become the wall between them. The midnight discourses wrapped in each others arms are replaced with turned backs and cold pillows. Anniversaries are forgot and the feeling of being abandoned is felt by the one noticing but still too hurt to speak. Seven years is all it took.

Hyeon and Jin were not the exception. They fell into the pattern as they sought different goals and didn't remember to hold each other. Jin, the sensitive one, felt it when his feelings were pushed aside and ignored as Hyeon buried himself in the corporate world. A subordinate brings a drunken Hyeon on their forgotten anniversary. The following day, a generic gift suggested by Hyeon's subordinate was the last straw. The break happens. Roles reversed, he collects a drunken Jin, and the words he receives finally sinks in. He understands.

The actors filled these short episodes with decent acting that the message lands squarely at our feet. Treasuring the person who is your person is what will make forever worth it. I loved when Hyeon realistically said, "Nothing lasts forever. The day will come when we see the end. That day... let's make it the day we start over." Life will happen. Obstacles will come. Let's take that end and make a new beginning.

The message that it delivers with the limited resources makes it worth the effort to watch. Jin's pain was effectively displayed and so too was Hyeon's remorse and pleas for forgiveness. A mature resolution to a situation that would see some couples choose differently. Worth a thought.

short series focused on an established couple

Overall: 4 episodes about 8 minutes each. Aired on True Film YouTube channel https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkQFxcEhORR2nDG4dZA_ICtUBXJe1Ns_4&si=vrmxN9-HjazoOvMa Channel members get additional kiss scenes.

What I Liked
- showed the pitfalls of not communicating needs to a partner
- supportive friend
- resolution

Room For Improvement
- some scenes too dark
- perfect hair after waking up

short but realistic

This was a different watch than what I am used to.

At first the misunderstandings made me feel quite uneasy and unnecesary. Then I realised, that's actually kinda realistic and didn't feel too blown out of proportion. The portrayal of emotions is raw and easy to relate to.

The show is nothing too special, but has a nice real feeling at the end for me.
It's worth a look, but for me not a rewatch.

It was good but ngl i hated Jae hyeon

It was a nice short drama. Can i say U jin is a pretty crier? Cz damn i cried everytime he cried😅. I've not watched the prequel yet so I'll review it solely on this season.

It's nice that they showed love doesn't stay the same as years go by but i really think Jae Hyeon is a red flag. He is used to U Jin and doesn't love him anymore. Everything he said when they made up proved that. Also the way he ignored U Jin thinking he'd stay no matter what eventhough he was having thoughts of breakup instead of actually breaking up and gaslighting him. Nope no thank you.

U Jin is kinda dumb to go back to him🙃 he didn't do anything to make up for his mistakes. 1 gift which he didnt bother picking up himself🙄 nah. I wanted an redemption arc but i get it, the drama is way too short to include that

Growing Apart or Growing Together?

I'm the type of person that believes less and less in love, and even less in long-term love. Maybe that’s why I’m so drawn to romance in fiction, especially in BL. There’s something comforting about watching love play out on screen, even when real life makes it feel uncertain. One thing I strongly believe in, though, is communication. In friendships, family relationships, and romantic partnerships, communication is essential. Without it, people fill in the blanks themselves. Assumptions turn into overthinking, and overthinking often turns into conflict. This short series highlights that dynamic very clearly. I found the story both realistic and unrealistic at times. I agree with a review I saw that if a couple has been together for seven years, you would expect them to have stronger communication skills by now. That’s a fair point. At the same time, being in a relationship doesn’t mean you automatically know how to handle every challenge. Growing together is an ongoing process. Sometimes couples only recognize their communication issues when they reach a breaking point, and maybe that’s what happened here.
Age and timing also matter. If they started dating at 18 or 20 and are now 25 or 27, that represents significant personal growth. The difference in mindset between 18 and 25 is substantial same with 20 and 27. As individuals, we constantly change, emotionally, mentally, even physically. In a long-term relationship, two people have to continually adjust to those changes and learn how to move forward together. That’s where many relationships struggle. It takes two people willing to work through moments that feel like the end in order to build something lasting. Many couples choose to walk away instead. Some avoid long-term commitment afterward, while others fall into cycles of on-and-off relationships, never fully satisfied.
Sustaining a relationship requires effort, patience, and mutual commitment.

Relationships are difficult in general. But if both people are willing to put in the work, and there’s no toxicity or clear deal-breakers, that’s often the healthiest situation you can ask for. Feeling bored at times or questioning the relationship doesn’t automatically mean it’s wrong. Sometimes boredom is just comfort. However, comfort shouldn’t turn into neglect. It’s important to communicate openly and find ways to reconnect, especially when adult responsibilities start taking priority over romance.

I think this series portrayed that aspect well. I just wish we had seen more of their happiness alongside their struggles. The kiss scenes also felt too short, and unfortunately we have to pay for them, but that’s a minor complaint.

Overall, it was a decent watch. Nothing groundbreaking, but it offered a realistic look at a couple trying to rediscover their spark. Personally, I tend to prefer slow-burn stories where we watch two people fall in love from the beginning, rather than stories that start with an established relationship facing problems. Still, I respect the bold choice to focus on what happens after the honeymoon phase.

My overall rating: 7.5/10

If u r making story implicating real life then it should unveil real story.

If feeling is lost then how the fuck it can be regain again? Feelings can't be regain. Actually if be in relationship that doesn't have feelings then it will hurt more and more. I could be okay with sad ending then being in relationship like this where feeling is no more. If he is tired of him. The moment he doesn't he don't wanna have sex then every person should know that their lover has lost their feeling. If drag the relationship then it will hurt the person who is loving more. It will ruin that person. I am writing this coz i had experienced that. I tried to hold my ex who lost feeling but in the end i got more and more pain. I cried like baby. I tried to start over but it couldn't pass the moment. After few days they will start to get irritated, annoyed, ignore, and list goes on. Thus its better to end. If series or movie is carrying story like this then its better they broke up and live their as they want. If u r making story implicating real life then it should unveil real story.

Realistic look on a long term relationship.

The story is very realistic, it shows what happens after a couple is together for a long time. You forget to make a big effort, taking the other for granted or just are too busy to notice. These are things that just sneak in when you are together for so long. That does not mean the love is not there anymore. Sometimes you just have to come to the realisation in a hard way, to remember what you are about to loose.

The music is beautiful and te visuals good.
These are very strong actors, i really felt every emotion they showed. And the chemistry is amazing. I hope to see a longer drama with them together in the future.

Definatly a must watch!
