The Old Story of Yu Hong (2026)

Set in a declining industrial city in Northeast China during the 1990s, the story begins with a series of bizarre and tragic murders — a drunkard frozen into an ice sculpture, a strong man brutally dismembered, and a local thug who vanishes without a trace. Though seemingly unrelated, their fates intertwine through a web of emotional entanglements and coincidences. As the chain of “accidental deaths” unravels, it reveals the warmth within complex human nature and the flickers of hope that persist under the harsh rules of survival.
