I really liked it the cast,the music,the acting was so breathtaking,the production was good overall it was such a bittersweet ending good but also bitter but it was really interesting to watch chemistry getting better and better as you watch the episode yup really good and interesting storyline,very good that I didn't want it to end by the way it's one of my best series so far so it's worth it,I can recommend this for real and we need more like a s2 maybe cause it was really amazing such a great worth watching drama I recommend itWas this review helpful to you?
A masterpiece that keeps you hooked
The series is a masterpiece, and I couldn’t stop watching. The actors are exceptional, and the viewer becomes fully immersed, truly believing in the story. The chemistry between the actors is palpable and grows throughout the episodes into a very well-built connection. The setting is interesting and breaks away from the usual BL tropes. I hope season 2 comes out as soon as possible, because it’s been a long time since I’ve felt this eager while waiting for a new episode.Was this review helpful to you?

never felt this attached to a series, breathtakingly beautiful.
first (and possibly the last) time writing review. sammy's children's day is such a beautiful series. starting from the plot, to the cinematography, to the chemistry between the leads, to the music, everything just sat so right. not even a second felt boring to me. especially how they placed little non-cringey comedy scenes to lighten up the mood, didnt feel out of place at all.i loved how even in such a short time, they portrayed the change in character dynamics, both in an individual setting and with their respective partner. he chusan grew more confident. he let himself go into the darkness just to bring liuyi out of it. on the other hand, xia liuyi was ready to give up his only identity for he chusan, the xiaoqi hall. the gradual progression of their feelings for each other was so wholesome to watch. havent read the novel myself but ive heard that they skipped parts of it, for which season 2 is a must im REALLY looking forward to what more they bring us.
cant help but mention some scenes which particularly awed me, one: when chusan tells liuyi he wants to take liuyi with him out of that place, chusan is seen initially standing under the light, liuyi in the dark. but by the end, chusan says his last line standing in the dark too. "how will i bring liuyi out of hell if i dont enter it." two: when a single drop of blood falls onto chusan's white canvas shoes, indicating the entry of liuyi is his life. three: the balcony to phonebooth communication, just felt so unreal.
maybe i am biased but the chemistry between changxi and yanzhao are off the charts, both of them seem so genuine on and off screen it makes mt heart so full. even in the series, their chemistry bloomed so well. alongside, the story between second couple was left at a very awkward position but with what was shown, i can tell they sit well too.
so, yeah. a beautifully made series. a little hasty but i hope ss2 will make up for it. made me sob, laugh, then sob again. (and i absolute love the pairs arghh can never get enough of them)

This series gave me post series depression. I NEED a season 2.
GUYS! I didn't know chinese bl dramas got a game like that. Like this series is so well written, I love the characters, I just like how it all come together. I will say that I will need maybe a hundred more of this series and there won't be any other opinions.I'm going to break down what I like about this series. The mc and male lead definitely have chemistry with each other. I can assure you that if you are planning to watch this, you should go for it and watch it. There are comedic moments where I laughed, cried, got angry all those small emotions I can feel and express it from each episodes. And can I just say that the actors look amazing? Like HELLO? Especially Xia Liu Li's family they are all handsome and beautiful! Don't get me started on He Chu San too, I would go to the frontlines to protect him.
Anyways, moving on the plot is quite interesting because I don't think I have watched something like this. There are some Bls that has action, gang fighting type of series but it was never executed like this which is refreshing. Each scene, each voice lines carries weight and they are done very well. Especially the angsty parts, they got me rolling down on the floor with tears and depression.
The actings were also on point, there were no filler episodes nor boring ones. I feel like every episode connects with each other. I wanted to give kudos to the actors, editors, people behind the scenes for making this come to life because I know it must hard to do so but still being able to deliver this masterpiece. Need China to stop being homophobic immediately so I could get S2 ASAP
This was so good. China really step it up these days. They are dishing out 5 star meals consistently. Every other region should be scared and shaking cuz I am really amazed by the quality despite the hurdles. The plot is so good. Mafia story is nothing new but the characters are such a breath of fresh air. Their dynamic is so fresh. The top is sweet, simple and nerdy but also very dirty minded and cunning while the bottom is the more 'manly' type who is the mafia and is very dominant. I love it so much. They also made the top the damsel in distress instead of the bottom which is such a 'chef kiss' to me. I love their chemistry so much. This would have gotten a 10/10 if it wasn't an ending for a S2. Cuz I don't even know if we will get it so I am sad but hopeful. Please BL Gods let there be a second season. I don't want it, I NEED it.Was this review helpful to you?

we need a s2
a show that has everything from comedy at times then its serious when need to, to gang stuff etcthe male leads have a slow burn romance , i find that i did like that they took their time so their romance dont feel sudden nor rushed, their relationship from strangers to friends to lovers feel well done, the season is obviously not complete with a hint for a season 2 and now i really need season 2 to happen as they didnt cover the whole novel there's a lot that can be done in the season 2 and id love to see the male leads lives as a couple
the second couple do look interesting too esp after seeing their scenes in the final ep
also good ost and lyrics i love it..
i highly recommend this show as it feels well done
note: china just started doing bls after longtime not being able to do and they are already killing it, one interesting plot after another, good osts and good acting, please never stop giving us the good quality we were starved for something good to watch

These Two Have My Whole Heart
If you're debating on watching this or not, DO IT. This show is soooooooo good. These two make me swoon and their relationship development is so sweet and natural. One of the only issues is that the dubbing is a little awkward but I'm able to ignore it, some people might not be able to. However, give it a shot and try it out.I love them so much and I'm hoping hard for a second season. If this is only 1 season, then the show is very unfinished and it would lower my score but there are strong rumors that they've already started filming season 2.
But overall, the show is amazing. These two are so perfect for each other and I can't believe I waited so long to start the show.

Amazing dynamic, also a bit weird
I wasn't exactly sure what to expect whenever I started this one but it was definitely far from whatever I was thinking, as usually I heard about this one from tiktok from the edits of the main two. The main two were really interesting to watch, the nerd and the aura farming mafia boss is a concept I'm starting to really like. But I feel like the nerd guy always forgot what kind of crowd he was involving himself in, he's not just a random gangster he’s the head of a gang who has killed multiple people. He had the ‘I can change him!’ mindset and it might've been working but in season 2 (there better be a season 2) I hope it actually touches on that more and shows the problems they have when they become an actual couple. Honestly speaking though I don’t blame him for forgetting because this dude was always acting quirky, he had an actual personality besides being the big scary boss. His brother in law took that role on better, although I like what he did for liuyu and his sister when they were kids. His relationship with her later just makes me mad. She deserved nothing more than to be happy but instead she was stuck with this dude who married her just because his favorite child said to, overall this whole family dynamic just gives me the ick and makes me sad. Moving on from that I wanna talk about Chusans obsession with liuyu, it was weird but I mean kind of a way of payback for how he was treated at the start. I mean after all it was liuyu who was obsessed first, love at first sight not knowing that's what it was. The 2 episodes where he was hiding away were really nice to watch, he was going through something and the only person he could count on was someone who he barely knew. I wish that era would've lasted just a tad longer if I’m gonna be honest. Their chemistry was definitely there towards the end but at the start it was so awkward, I wanna say that it was on purpose but I guess we or I will never know. To finish this I just wanna say how much I loved the random aura farming shots of liuyu in this, like the frame of him looking out the window is perfect I love it. Didn't Want it to End!
This story reminds me of History 3: Trapped where we had a police officer and gangster falling in love and a potentially long prison sentence to separate them at the end. This story is the definition of slow burn and high tension. I love how Liuyi slowly comes to terms with his affection for Chu San and how the triad members are fully supportive. There was some comedy with the New Year's dinner with Chu San's family trying to make Liuyi jealous about Mei. I also almost missed the fact that Chu San was reviewing the ledger that Dong Dong had- come to find out, he really was the financial advisor to the gang. His love was soo evident and he was sooo sweet with his dedication to Liuyi. I figured the endig would get rushed, because they added too much plot an unknowns in the last two episodes- the drama within the police department was almost distracting. So at the end, were the two cops going to become a real couple? What about the Commissioner, is he dirty? Why was Chu San flinging money and boasting about how much money he made the group? Honest Opinion
This is the kind of slow burn I’ve been looking for. The plot feels fresh and different. It’s not perfect, but knowing it was made on a small budget makes it easier to appreciate what it achieved.At first, I kept complaining to my friends that the series was introducing conflicts it couldn’t fully sustain. But with a possible Season 2, I’m hoping it gets the chance to really deliver on those ideas.
And the chemistry between the two actors? Absolutely through the roof. Especially if you follow them on social media. It may be a slow burn in the series, but in real life, you definitely won’t be left starving.

Yet it was pretty good. I may start the novel, I'm curious about the other characters.

Hooked From Start to End --- But Left Wanting More
Well, I must say, watching the series in one go is absolutely amazing.Yeah, I watched the whole series in one sitting: from episode 1 to 9.
I really appreciate the actors’ performances, their beautiful and elegant appearances, and their overall aura. I also loved the entire setup, the environment, the atmosphere, the storytelling, and the direction.
I haven’t read the novel; I started this series because of its positive and motivating reviews.
Still, I genuinely feel they should have given stronger BL vibes from episode 1. The interactions between the two leads felt more like bromance than actual romance at first. It was only after three or four episodes when He ChuSan kissed Lui Yi in his dream, that it truly started to feel like a BL series.
Also, the second leads felt a bit underdeveloped. Their relationship lacked depth, and the interactions between the cops needed more screen time and emotional intensity.
Even the second leads weren’t truly in love, but since their relationship was built on revenge, it should have been explored with more intensity and intimate moments to make it feel complete and believable.
Overall, the series shouldn’t have been limited to just 9 episodes, it needed more room to grow. And if it ends like this, then there has to be a Season 2.
I’m genuinely looking forward to it.
