Asami Mitsuhiko, a travel reporter, visited Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture to report on legends associated with Emperor Go-Toba. Onomichi was the place where, twelve years earlier, his younger sister, Asami Yuko, had tragically died in a fire accident during her graduation trip. As he was reminiscing about memories with Yuko, Asami unexpectedly ran into Yuko’s friend, Shohoji Miyako. Despite the reunion, Miyako, showing a cold attitude, soon left.
