this bl is just not Where it's at storyline is okay but when you cut nc scenes it takes away from the story. this is the third episode that I've done seen this kind of scene cut what's going to show on the kissing or even the hugging at this point if you cut the NC scenes to the story. common sense Don't cut part of the store in any way shape our form. that makes people less interested in the series. that's just my honest opinion about this series and the writing. Imperfect Yet Entertaining!

Okay, first of all, this is not the kind of drama that is insanely intellectually satisfying, obviously. But it’s still a decent watch. Although there were a few flaws and the ending felt really rushed, I genuinely enjoyed the chemistry between the leads.

Honestly, having a second lead in this drama felt unnecessary, and I personally didn’t like that part. Somehow, I knew from the very beginning that it wouldn’t be a heart-stealing series, and maybe that’s why I’m okay with it.

Since I still managed to enjoy several aspects of this drama, I’d give it an 8/10.

Overall, If someone asks me whether they should watch it or not, I honestly don’t have a clear answer.

Cuteness Overload: This Couple Stole My Heart Again

We waited almost 10 years for this series, and honestly… it was so worth it. This couple was already super cute in the first show, but seeing them as the main leads with their own story just hit differently.

Their acting was amazing and the chemistry between them? Insane. The kisses were so emotional, and love scenes were so exciting. I watched all 12 episodes in one go and I’m definitely going to rewatch it again and again. I just love them.

The second couple was also really adorable. I wish them all the best in the future.

The ending did feel a bit rushed though. Maybe some scenes were cut, because it left a few question marks for viewers.

But overall the drama was great. I honestly didn’t expect something this open from China, so it was a big surprise in the best way. The quality was really high and now I just want more projects like this

Heartwarming for those who waited 10 years for these two

I wanna explain why I rated 10. I have created this account just to share my opinion as a BL fan who has been following the industry news for more than 10 years. My BL journey started before Addicted, but this BL made me become a translator nowadays.
I've been in love with the main couple since Addicted, and I've seen lots of fake promises of their comeback. China has been pretty cruel towards BLs, and when I realised that, 10 years ago, it made my heart ache.
The actors don't deserve such hate. I kept seeing how much they love each other and how much they waited for each other in their eyes. Seeing them mature and grown up made me feel old as well lol.
People may have been complaining about the story being bad or not well written, but IMO, it's heartwarming for those who have seen their ups and downs in the industry.
The last episodes were very intense for me. I could picture and imagine how painful it was when they had to be cut out of the entertainment industry, so when I saw Yoki crying for telling people he is gay, it felt personal! When they reunited at the end, I could see how much they love each other and how hard it was to overcome everything.
IMO Love after Addiction is even more meaningful for those who saw everything and followed all the news from back then with Addicted.
I'm extremely happy and proud of them. I cried a river, and I won't deny.
Watch it, I know it's not perfect, but keep their past in mind, and I hope you can feel what I felt.

Easy happy watch

It's surprisingly funny & lighthearted for a CBL 😂 The island is gorgeous, making it so healing just looking at the view- sth that we often see in JBL and I'm glad I get to see this here too. I love the chemistry of both couples. It's an easy watch- binge it in one night after siting on it for a while as I thought it'd be heavy

I didn't watch Addicted, so I don't know if there's any reference at all but I heard that this couple is the 2nd couple in the original Addicted. If that's the case, I'm SO happy for them because boy- there are so many 2nd couple that I wish had their own series! SO, I'm glad they have their time now, even if it comes 10 years later apparently.

The only thing is the sudden separation before getting back together that I don't like. Not because they get separated but just somehow don't make that much sense but the ending saves it all.

I really enjoy it so much I put this in my rewatch list.

This feels like a love story written for tired people.

How do you review Love After Addiction when your main memories are sleepless nights, rescue missions, and You Xi looking at Yang Meng like he had personally invented REM sleep?

This series really looked at the romance genre and said, "What if we added insomnia, career collapse, emotional dependency, unresolved history, and enough yearning to keep an entire city awake?"

You Xi had fame.

Success.

Recognition.

And absolutely none of the peace that was supposed to come with any of it.

Scandals happened.

Burnout happened.

Sleep stopped happening altogether.

Then came Yang Meng.

Former classmate.

Rescue captain.

Human sleeping pill.

Apparently.

Because somehow, against all known medical science, You Xi discovers that the only place he can sleep peacefully is next to him.

Honestly?

Cinema.

Lin Feng Song brought so much exhaustion, vulnerability, and quiet desperation to You Xi that watching him slowly unravel and rebuild himself felt painfully real.

And Chen Wen as Yang Meng?

The king of patience.

The emperor of emotional stability.

The CEO of accidentally becoming someone's safe place.

Watching Yang Meng slowly realize that You Xi needed far more than sleep while You Xi slowly learned the difference between dependence and love gave us one of the most emotionally mature relationships of the year.

Because this wasn't simply a romance.

It was a story about trust.

About loneliness.

About what happens when someone becomes the first place you've ever felt safe enough to rest.

And honestly?

That might be more intimate than love itself.

The supporting cast understood the assignment too.

The friends.

The colleagues.

The people trying to hold these two together while they stubbornly pretended they were handling everything perfectly fine.

Spoiler:

They were not.

And can we talk about the people behind the camera?

Writer and director Nattachai Jiraanont understood exactly what this story needed: quiet.

The emotional moments weren't rushed.

The silences mattered.

The sleepless nights mattered.

The spaces between conversations often said more than the dialogue itself.

The cinematography deserves special praise.

The city lights at 3 AM.

The empty apartments.

The exhaustion written across faces illuminated by street lamps.

The contrast between sleeplessness and peace.

Every frame felt intimate.

Almost intrusive.

Like we were witnessing moments nobody else was supposed to see.

And the soundtrack?

Absolutely guilty of aiding and abetting emotional devastation.

Every song arrived precisely when viewers had almost convinced themselves they were emotionally stable again.

Almost.

Love After Addiction wasn't simply a BL.

It wasn't simply a second-chance romance.

It was a story about finding rest in another person after forgetting what rest even felt like.

This wasn't celebrity × rescue captain.

This wasn't ex-classmates-to-lovers.

This was insomniac actor × man who accidentally became home.

Would absolutely lose sleep, make terrible emotional decisions, and watch these two idiots discover that sometimes the thing you're addicted to isn't sleep.

Taking over my brain

It is so cute so far, and the humour is just for me. Nostalgic and reminiscent of Addicted (2016). I love that the characters are older, although they are still just as silly. There was a very fun montage edited to look like a Chinese variety show, and as an avid watcher of Chinese variety shows, I found it extremely cute. I also really enjoy that the characters are established mlm, so the plot is about them falling in love rather than figuring out their sexuality. Youxi is very shameless, and his schemes are hilarious. I respect Yangmeng's patience. Overall, I highly recommend and I am very excited to see how the story unfolds.

Peu addictif, mais sympathique...

Love after Addiction n'est pas le drame de l'année, mais il possède de quoi accrocher avec un duo principal sympathique et de belles prises de vues.

Yoki (Lin Feng Song) et Yang Meng (Chen Wen) forment un joli duo. Entre quelques maladresses et parfois un peu de surjeu, ils se dégagent d'eux une complicité attachante, bien qu'elle ne reste pas mémorable pour moi.

Personnellement, je ne me souviens pas d'Addicted. Cela tombe bien, car il n’est pas nécessaire de l’avoir vu (ou de s’en souvenir). Certes, il y a quelques absences dans les deux derniers épisodes, mais pour moi, ce n'est pas le plus gros défaut. Le vrai problème, c'est qu'ils traînent inutilement. Les scènes sont longues (bien que Lin Feng Song soit bel homme, le regarder marcher pendant cinq minutes finit par lasser). De plus, la majorité d'entre elles sont peu utiles. Celle du désert reste seulement une porte d'entrée pour la carrière de Yoshi, c'est tout.

En bref, Love after Addiction est un drame sympathique avec un casting agréable et une bonne alchimie, malgré une intrigue assez plate.

Sumpah ni series random banget dah. Sebentar-sebentar di pulau Lanwan ntar tau tau nanti dah di KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre) terus pindah ke kawasan Bukit Bintang Malaysia terus tiba-tiba ke gurun pasir yang ternyata itu di Turki?? kita diajak world tour kah awokaowkawok. Oh ya itu adegan Yang Meng lagi didalam kereta yakin gua itu di cina sih, bukan di Kuala Lumpur. Tapi kenapa ngesyuting kota nya di KL? Cina mau ngeklaim KL kah? xD lucu banget ngaceng ngakak kenceng.

Selain dari ke-random-an footage, kayaknya plotnya juga ibarat gado-gado having an intercourse dengan rujak. Semua Plot dari semua BL ada disini. [SPOILER ALERT]

- Yoki (You Xi) diceritakan punya penyakit insomnia, yah senormalnya artis pasti punya insomnia. Tapi disini dia ngeklaim kalau dengan tidur didekat Yang Meng, bisa mempercepat tidur tanpa minum obat pil. which is kayak series apa gess? iyak benull, mirip plotnya A Breeze of Love, BL Korea 2023.

- You Xi & Yang Meng berpisah 1 tahun setelah konflik yang mana You Xi dituduh segala macem sama si miss fong eh siapa si? ya intinya Yang Meng marah terus bla bla bla habis debat kemudian si You Xi disuruh ngejauhin dia, Yang Meng. eh 1 tahun kemudian reuni ga sengaja di Lanwan pulau lantam terkutuk. 1 tahun, 1 tahun berpisah setelah sebelumnya telah resmi menjalin hubungan. mirip apa? mirip To My Star season 2.

- YouXi & Yang Meng yang berpisah selama 1 tahun itu karena apa? Miscomunication/kurang komunikasi. Yang satu terlalu percaya rumor yang satu ngikut aja suruhan buat berpisah. Berpisah karena miskomunikasi... mirip series apa? We Best Love Fighting Mr. 2nd.

- Setting tempatnya, pulau Lanwan, jujur ngingetin gw sama pulau Xinpu di series Wishing Upon the Shooting Stars, eh tapi kan Love After Addiction dirilis lebih dulu daripada WUSS.

- Oh iya beberapa shoot beachside/coastline nya ngingetin gw sama series His, BL Jepang 2019. "His" versi series loh yaa, bukan versi movie.

- YouXi terkena skandal mistreatment pacar sesama pekerja dunia entertainment. Lalu secara ga langsung dia bersembunyi dari "kota besar" ke pulau Lanwan demi keselamatan dia ya walau sebenarnya tujuan utama nya buat syuting acara reality show sih. Tapi sekilas, aktor kena skandal > sembunyi dari publik sementara, mirip To My Star season 1.

1. Konflik utama di series ini ENGGA terselesaikan dengan baik, malah manajer nya YouXi berkhianat dan malah sekongkol sama musuhnya YouXi. Sumpah jahat banget. Dan Youxi ngga ngelakuin apa apa gitu? tiba tiba ngundurin diri dari dunia hiburan. Itu kalo dibawa ke pengadilan beuhh udah kayak nonton miss universe itu rame nya dijamin. tiba tiba mundur dari dunia hiburan udah kayak korea aja.

2. teros JANCOK tibakno si sopo.. miss feng? miss fong? sapa lah tu pokoknya yang ngeframming YouXi baru terungkap kejahatannya dia SETELAH YouXi terpaksa hengkang dari entertainment. Terus, akhir nasib dari miss fengfong gimana? adegan miss kofong terjatuh terus manajer pengkhianat nya ntah udah muak atau gimana tiba tiba ninggalin si fingfong dengan kerumunan wartawan? itu... simbolik ga sih? Mungkin bisa ditafsirkan, "bitch what r u doin'? imma leave the fuck of you!" dan itu ibarat kejatuhan nya si fengfang. yah... kuanggap si fingting udh dapet karma lah ya? TAPI TETEP AJA KURANG PUASS SAMA NASIB NYA FEKFONG.

3. Mending gausah ada second couple kalau cara kisah cinta mereka terdevelop ngga ditampilkan secara proper. Ya Ren tiba tiba di ewe terus tiba tiba scene nya ganti ke plotnya YouXi&Yang Meng. Terus next episode tiba tiba Xu Che berbohong ke Ya Ren kalau dia deketin Ya Ren cuma buat balas dendam sama biar Ya Ren paham gimana rasanya dimainkan perasaannya, padahal Xu Che cerita ke YouXi kalau dia suka beneran sama Ya Ren. lah mau lu apa si tong gentong? terus next episode Ya Ren mutung, cemburu sama cewe yang dianggap pacar nya si Xu Che. terus malemnya Ya Ren disuruh sama Xu Che buat milih alat yang kayaknya buat bahan BDSM. cok a lot of things happened so quickly yet i felt like i lost a hundred of chapter cokk jiamput!!. terus next episode tau tau Ya Ren&Xu Che jadian, *RESMI* jadian tuh. dipamerin ampe gandengan tangan didepan YouXi. lah kapan Xu Che confess ke Ya Ren nya?? YouXi kan udah properly confessed ke Yang Meng tuh, nah Xu Che kapan confess ke Ya Ren cok??? sumpah ini writing nya kacauu!! mending gausah diadakan second couple.

4. They did Yang Meng's father dirty!!. Di VN (voice note) nya ayahnya di WeChat, kita dapat gambaran kalo ayahnya Yang Meng ini galak, suka ngancam, dan possibly NPD. Padahal pas Yang Meng balik ke rumahnya ayahnya di ep 11-12, ayahnya baik tuh? bahkan setelah Ayahnya tau kalau Yang Meng suka sama Youxi (adegan ayahnya Yang Meng dikasih foto paparazi kedekatan YouXi&Yang Meng, dikasih sama manajer nya YouXi). Jarang loh ada orang tua, di cina (at least di drama BL) yang masih menyayangi anaknya walau anaknya suka manusia berkontol. Jarang ada ortu yang pengertian kayak ayahnya si Yang Meng ini. lah terus kenapa di episode awal2 digambarkan kalau ayahnya Yang Meng ni jahat dan bahkan Yang Meng aja sempet ngejauhin si YouXi sementara dengan alasan "takut negcewain ayahku" *dia dapet pikiran melayang tentang suara ayahnya ngemarahin dia*. lah jadi intinya, ayahnya dia ni jahat pa ngga? ga jelas nih writingnya.

5. Kenapa dibeberapa scene yang romantis, perlu diadakan lagu korea sebagai background song? kenapa? Mau ngasih vibes ala-ala drakor? Emang lagu berbahasa mandarin kurang romantis kah? Ga suka nih gw yang berbau inferiority complex kayak gini. It's giving short-form vertical drama denga segala OST random berbagai bahasa itu wkwkwk.

6. Masih kurang clear sbenernya peran si bapak turki diakhir episode itu apa? pembawa pesan? ngasih tau YouXi kalau dia pasti bakal ketemu Yang Meng? terus kenapa random mau mati di gurun pasir? terus tiba tiba dia ngasih tau kalau dia sutradara, tiba-tiba ngajak YouXi ke NEW YORKKK NYC buat... idk.. syuting filem? terus si YouXi ni jadinya jadi ke new york apa ngga? kenapa scene nya tiba tiba pindah ke Lanwan lantam lagi? malah napak tilas si abang.

au ah mumettt. pusing mikirin cerita amburadul dari series ini. gw mau bahas yg gw suka

1. YouXi di akhir-akhir episode tiba-tiba jadi ganteng maksimal jirrr. padahal diawal-awal episode dia agak kureng gitu. ini salah Make up artist nya sihh. sumpah seganteng itu dia. gw sebagai gay dan single gw mengaku terpincut olehnya.

2. XU CHE is sooo DADDDYYYYHHHH auurghhhhh. im wet when i seen him naked with only using a boxer brief. di pantai. terus yang scene mereka mandi bareng setelah syuting acara reality show tu, si adek nya xu che ngeplak di boxer nya jirr. ahh gw ange bangettt. sumpah demi apa xu che tipe gw banget huhu

3. Appreciated the way the kissing scene is real, bukan cuma bibir nempel tanpa gerakan tukar saliva terus tiba tiba angle kamera nya ngejauh dan miring, memberikan point of view seakan akan beneran ciuman padahal kita ngga sebodoh itu buat tau kalau itu kissing scene nya fake. biasanya di series BL korea circa 2022-2023 banyak nih begini. untung nya di series ini ngga gitu. sumpah bagus banget dan chemistry nya mereka dapet bangettt, meskipun plot cerita nya kayak sampahhh. kissing scene nya beneran intimate banget. I really appreciated this. seems like they done the workshop so well.

4. ACTING NYA BAGUS. kecuali para pemeran pendukung semua kacau akting nya tapi You Xi baguss, Yang Meng bagus mengeluarkan emosi nya, Xu Che berhasil mencuri hatiku padahal dia actingnya kayak cowo cool. Ya ren juga bagus.

apalagi yaa? *yawn* ngantukk gess. udahlah segini dulu, udah jam 12 dini hari.

Me encantó, al principio pense que sería una continuación de addicted asi que estaba confundida por algunos sucesos luego entendí que si tenia algunos elementos de la novela pero otras partes fueron modificadas pero en general se sigue la misma línea que planteaba la historia original.
Me gusta este nuevo enfoque que en el fondo concluye en lo mismo que en la novela original en donde nuesto protagonista (el actor) necesitó pasar dificultades para darse cuenta y valorar las interacciones genuinas
Los malentendidos y engaños también siguen la línea de la novela el querer mantener a la persona que amas a tú lado y si bien los escenarios son manipulados, los sentimientos son genuinos.
Lo que mas me gusta es que esta centrada en la segunda pareja de la novela que era mi favorita, adoró tanto a los personajes como a los actores que los interpretaron.
