After Moving Seats, the Boy Behind Me Has a Crush on Me Episode 1

High school student Mayama Haru struggles with social interactions and spends his days pretending to sleep in class to avoid drawing attention. One day, after the class seating arrangement is changed, the school's most popular student, Asamiya Kosei, ends up sitting behind him. While looking over a quiz paper, Haru discovers a message that reads, "I like you." Assuming it was meant for someone else, Haru repeatedly brushes it off as a misunderstanding. But Asamiya sets the record straight with a direct confession: "The one I like is you, Mayama." Caught completely off guard, Haru can't bring himself to believe Asamiya's feelings and tries to keep his distance. Undeterred, Asamiya continues to express his affection in his own awkward but thoughtful ways, waiting for Haru at the school gate and buying bread for him from the school store. Asamiya even tells Haru that the very things Haru sees as flaws are what made him fall for him: his messy bed hair, his hunched posture, and the way he always chooses the option that leaves himself at a disadvantage.
