Misunderstanding Asamiya’s words, “You don’t have to fall in love with me,” Mayama becomes convinced that his feelings were all a misunderstanding, leaving him deeply hurt. In an attempt to forget Asamiya, he starts working part-time delivering flyers during summer vacation. However, no matter how busy he keeps himself, his feelings for Asamiya refuse to disappear. Meanwhile, after unexpectedly running into Sakaki and seeking his advice about love, Mayama is more or less forcibly dragged to a group blind date. But Mayama cannot fit in with the others, and he finds himself preoccupied with the fact that Asamiya misunderstood his feelings. Around the same time, Asamiya opens up to Tsunekawata about his own romantic troubles for the first time. He confesses that, because he desperately did not want to make the person he loves feel burdened, he had tried to distance himself. But the truth is that he cares about Mayama more than anyone. Tsunekawata encourages him to express his feelings honestly, giving Asamiya the courage to face Mayama. Eventually, Asamiya goes to the group blind date venue to pick Mayama up and, without caring about the eyes of those around them, takes him away by the hand. Once they are alone, Asamiya apologizes and explains that when he called himself a “local mascot character,” those words did not reflect his true feelings. He had simply clumsily expressed himself out of fear that Mayama would feel obligated to like him. He then makes it clear once again that his feelings are genuine romantic love, telling Mayama that he is someone so precious to him that he wants to hold his hand and hug him. mayama deserves better

I might be hated for this but i really really REALLY hate asamiya. he wasn't my favorite before but this episode just made him go from a solid 8 to a maximum of 4 maybe 5. the end really just made me have him take Joke's place in the special ep of Jack and Joker. did anyone else think that his apology sounded like he is victimizing himself, cus that was the case for meand the kiss scene...im normally head over heals when they have a cute moment and kiss but that was an unconsented kiss and i really hated it.

as the saying goes communication is key & thankfully both mains spilled their hearts not worrying about the "what if's.." that was a very sweet moment & i was pleasantly surprised by the 180 this ep took after the catastrophe of the previous ep where Asamiya really put his foot in it with that moronic line of i love u like a mascot lol... so like the turn around but have to say i was more impressed by Sakaki reaching out to encourage & be a friend to Mayama then the mains uncrossing their wire's... but cute ep

Their Confession and First Kiss Was Absolutely Beautiful

Probably my favourite episode yet. Their confession beside the lake was so beautiful and heartfelt, and then that kiss made the whole moment even more special. It wasn’t a dead fish kiss at all. They are high school students and this was probably their first kiss, so I thought it was perfect for them. It felt innocent, nervous, tender and completely genuine.“What kind of like? It’s the one where I want to hold your hand, to touch you, to hug you.”That confession completely melted my heart. There was something so pure about the way he described his feelings. He didn’t need some huge dramatic speech. He simply wanted to be close to the person he loved, to hold his hand, touch him and hug him. Then having their feelings finally come together with that beautiful kiss beside the lake made the entire scene unforgettable. They are seriously so sweet together. This episode gave me everything I wanted from them.
