On the day of the school festival, Mayama, despite suffering from a high fever, forces himself to go to school. Although Asamiya tries to stop him, Mayama decides to participate, saying, “If I can see this through until the end, I feel like I might be able to like myself a little more.” Respecting his feelings, Asamiya supports him by preparing cooling sheets and drinks, while making him promise to save enough energy for them to enjoy the festival together. When the haunted house opens, Mayama, playing a werewolf, works hard to scare the visitors and receives high praise from both his classmates and the guests. However, the strain gradually takes its toll, and his condition worsens. Seeing Mayama become unsteady on his feet, Asamiya firmly tells him, “Take better care of yourself,” and takes him to the nurse's office in the middle of the festival. When Mayama wakes up, he feels devastated, believing that he ruined the school festival because of himself. However, Sakaki and Tsunekawada greet him with smiles and tell him that it was a huge success. He also learns that Asamiya stepped in as Dracula and supported the class until the very end. Asamiya never took over the werewolf role, saying that “the werewolf belongs to Mayama,” and instead helped his friends in whatever way he could. When the two are finally alone in the nurse's office, Asamiya tells him that doing something like this for Mayama is nothing. He confesses that, for the first time, he has discovered the joy of doing something for someone else. Thinking about Mayama's past and the loneliness he learned about from his older brother, Ten, Asamiya looks straight at him and says, “Don’t ever say ‘someone like me’ again.” He then gently embraces him. Wrapped in Asamiya's warmth, Mayama realizes that his feelings for him have become a certain, undeniable love. On their way home, they promise that next year they will enjoy the school festival together. Mayama decides that he is finally going to give Asamiya an answer to his confession. However, as if cutting off his words, Asamiya suddenly tells him: “You don’t have to fall in love with me.” Stunned by those unexpected words, Mayama is left speechless, and their relationship enters a new phase. EP.5:You Don’t Have to Fall in Love with Me

The school festival gives Hare a chance to step a little further outside his shell and enjoy school life with Asamiya and his friends. His adorable werewolf costume and Asamiya’s handsome vampire look make this episode especially charming. But just as Hare begins to understand his own feelings, Asamiya suddenly tells him, “You don’t have to fall in love with me.” It is probably his way of being gentle and not forcing open the door to Hare’s heart—but the timing could not be worse. Why say that now, Asamiya?

1st off am glad Mayama's brother isn't…

1st off am glad Mayama's brother isn't a brocon & there was no weirdness about his asking for Asamiya's contact info. but how from what he said did Asamiya reach the genius conclusion to tell Mayama he doesn't need to reciprocate his feelings, cause what Asamiya feels is love u feel for the local mascot - like WTF does that even mean?!? & was that supposed to reassure Mayama ?? into what? taking his time? or taking romance out of the equation?!? i seriously don't know what on in Asamiya's head to utter that rubbish. poor Mayama ugh
