K-Drama
Hot, Steamy Office Romance With Kisses That Will Leave You Wanting More!
WOW! What a hot and steamy first two episodes! I honestly did not expect this Korean BL to be so bold right from the beginning, but within just over 20 minutes, I was already completely hooked! If you love mature office romances with handsome, tall and muscular men, intense sexual tension and passionate kisses, then this is definitely one to add to your watchlist! We are introduced to Seon U, a rookie employee, and his strict, intimidating Team Leader Kang. One rainy night after work, Kang invites Seon U back to his apartment, and OMG, this is where things start getting interesting! Seeing Kang outside the office was such a surprise. He looked incredibly hot and attractive, especially without his glasses and his usual serious expression. I honestly cannot blame Seon U for being attracted to him!
The tension between them was impossible to ignore, and Seon U eventually made the first move. Before I knew it, THEY WERE ALREADY KISSING!
And can we please talk about that couch scene? OMG! It was so erotic, hot and steamy! Their chemistry was absolutely incredible, and I loved how natural and passionate their kissing looked. Finally, a BL where both actors actually know how to KISS! No awkward or stiff dead fish kisses here! You could genuinely feel how much these two wanted each other, and I was enjoying every second of it!
What made the episode even more interesting was what happened the following day at the office. Seon U was giving a presentation when Team Leader Kang suddenly criticised him in front of all their colleagues. I was thinking, seriously Kang? After what happened between you two last night? Poor Seon U was so embarrassed that he went straight to the bathroom.
But then Kang followed him, and OMG, THEY KISSED AGAIN! IN THE OFFICE BATHROOM! 🔥🥵
I absolutely LOVE their dynamic! In front of their colleagues, they almost seem like enemies who cannot stand each other. Kang is strict, demanding and constantly putting pressure on Seon U, but behind closed doors, these two clearly cannot resist each other! That contrast makes their relationship so addictive to watch. I am already curious to see how long they can keep their attraction hidden at work!
Another thing I really enjoyed was the acting. Both leads are incredibly attractive, but it is their chemistry that really makes the scenes work. Their eye contact, body language and especially their kisses feel convincing. Nothing feels forced, and I love that they are not afraid to show genuine physical attraction.
Although the first episode is only just over 20 minutes long, it delivered so much more than I expected. We already got two passionate kisses, a seriously steamy couch scene, workplace tension and two gorgeous male leads who clearly have feelings for each other!
I just wish the episodes were longer because I was enjoying it so much that those 20 minutes flew by!
Overall, Twisted Tie is off to an incredibly HOT start! It is sexy, entertaining, addictive and exactly the kind of mature Korean BL I love watching. I cannot wait to see how their office romance develops, especially when their professional relationship is already so complicated!
If you love attractive mature office workers, muscular male leads, workplace rivalry, secret romance and HOT, REAL kisses instead of dead fish kisses, then PLEASE add this Korean BL to your watchlist!
I am already counting down to the next episode!

what's with all the AI??!!
The story has not progressed far enough for the rating to be accurate yet, but what's standing out to me the most at the moment is the abhorrent and obnoxious use of AI. The entire intro is ai, they use ai for clips that they could just film, such as people walking and rain falling. Like come on! If you want to make a tv show why not actually make it yourself, not just run it through a computer. Its incredibly distracting and just a bit unattractive. To me, it makes it feel like no passion was put into this show, that it is completely half assed and no real effort or consideration was put into the making of it. Ai is a disastrous and ridiculous tool that has absolutely NO place in the film industry, rather ruining the show for me from the beginning. However, despite of this, I have decided to continue watching it. From the beginning I will say that they are not shy, with a fiery and strong physical relationship established almost immediately. I think this show will be a hit with watchers who prefer smut and passion to deep and emotional connection. I can sense a toxic and unhealthy relationship developing, but I don't think that's particularly a bad thing in this show.
From what i can see in this show, there is little to no plot outside of the smut, choosing to completely neglect plot lines or developed characters outside of their sexual dynamics. I understand that this is a show for the smut enjoyers, but even just a little plot would do it some good, but instead each episode is 20 minutes of pure sex, with a few lines of dialogue here and ther. It just feels empty and incomplete, rather a waste of time.

NSFW! And introducing Smuthounds...
I just have to say I adored the review by the viewer of this show, who described themselves as a 'smuthound' -- I'm still chuckling.Look: What it is, is a BL or really ML (Maybe Men's Love should be a category for the grittier BL shows?) which is just a balsa wood thin platform for two lovely, obviously adult bodies to bonk all over the place... And it IS refreshing to see two adult bodies -- in Mr Fanboy, which I am loving btw, -- it was a bit disconcerting to see frail little Wan (with the figure of a twelve year old -- tho he is of an acceptable age) getting together with muscley Third --- it was sweetly done though.
I'm not watching the rest, because I like the 'traditional' BL style balance of NC and Romance, but seriously if you are a smuthound -- it's really well done -- go knock yourself out!!

Basically P W P
If you're looking for a dramatic plot, or maybe any substantial plot at all this is not for you. Basically this series is made for some guilty pleasure. So if that's not your tea, just skip. The two characters are equally crazy, and I think will be more crazy the coming chapters. It's truly a wild one.

Tangled Ties and Blurred Lines
Update after Episode 2 — DroppedWell, unfortunately, the chemistry arrived, but the story never did. After two episodes, Twisted Tie feels less like a drama with passionate encounters and more like a string of sexual encounters desperately searching for a plot. The chemistry is outstanding, and there was genuine potential in the characters and their complicated workplace dynamic. But instead of developing those elements, the series seems primarily interested in finding increasingly creative opportunities for physically intimate activity. I’m certainly not opposed to intimate scenes, but I want them to serve the characters, relationships, and larger narrative—not substitute for them. With only five episodes total, we’re already 40% through the series, and I still don’t know what story it’s trying to tell. That’s enough for me. Dropped after episode two.
Twisted Tie — First Impressions After Episode 1
Well, that escalated quickly! 😂
Twisted Tie wastes absolutely no time establishing the physical attraction between its two leads, and the chemistry is unquestionably one of its strongest assets. The acting is convincing, the kisses are passionate and natural, and the tension between Kang Do Jin and Lee Seon U is palpable. But after the first 20-minute episode, I’m still trying to figure out what kind of story we’re actually being invited into.
Kang Do Jin is a demanding, blunt, perfectionist team leader who apparently missed the management training session on delivering constructive feedback. His criticism of rookie employee Seon U’s architectural design isn’t necessarily wrong. His point about sacrificing functionality for aesthetics is valid, as is his argument that clients don’t lower their expectations simply because an employee is inexperienced. But there’s a difference between maintaining high professional standards and unnecessarily humiliating someone while enforcing them.
Seon U, however, is interesting in his response. Rather than resenting Kang’s criticism, he acknowledges its validity and genuinely admires him. He’s polite, deferential, and determined to improve. That dynamic becomes particularly interesting once the episode begins layering obvious attraction underneath their professional relationship.
And importantly, that attraction does not begin only when Seon U makes the first move at Kang’s apartment. Even before they leave the office, Kang is already invading Seon U’s space in a way that feels far more intimate than necessary, leaning in close instead of simply keeping things professional. Add to that the fact that Kang insists Seon U spend the night at his home because of the storm, and it becomes clear that while Seon U may initiate the first kiss, Kang has already been quietly provoking the tension between them.
Away from the office, Kang reveals a considerably more relaxed, playful, and provocative personality. He even acknowledges the contrast himself, telling Seon U that if he behaved like Team Leader Kang in his private life as well as at work, it would be suffocating. He clearly recognizes the distinction between his professional and personal identities. And when Seon U continues behaving like the polite, deferential rookie, Kang encourages him to relax and leave that workplace persona behind.
What caught my attention wasn’t simply this contrast between Kang’s two personas. It was his apparent fascination with breaking through Seon U’s carefully maintained professional composure. That becomes especially interesting the following day, when Kang’s criticism grows even harsher, eventually provoking Seon U into an angry confrontation.
And Kang seems absolutely delighted.
There are several possible motivations for this behavior. Is Kang overcompensating professionally after their intimate encounter because he doesn’t want anyone noticing a change in their relationship? Or does he genuinely enjoy provoking Seon U, pushing him until that polished, deferential exterior finally cracks? My initial impression leans toward the latter. Kang seems to get a particular satisfaction from bringing out the less restrained, more confrontational side of Seon U.
It’s an intriguing character dynamic, particularly because Kang himself clearly distinguishes between his professional and private personas. Perhaps he’s trying to discover who Seon U is when he stops being the respectful young employee and allows himself to respond more spontaneously.
But here’s where I’m still undecided about the drama itself.
We have two attractive leads, strong performances, outstanding physical chemistry, a complicated workplace power dynamic, and a supervisor who seems to enjoy provoking his subordinate. All of that establishes a potentially interesting relationship. What it hasn’t yet established, at least for me, is a compelling overarching narrative.
What is the central conflict? What is at stake beyond the obvious complications of a supervisor and subordinate becoming physically involved? What will make me emotionally invested in these characters rather than simply entertained by their attraction?
I don’t know yet. And that’s not necessarily a criticism. It’s only the first episode, after all.
There is plenty of potential here. The acting is strong, the chemistry is excellent, and the characters have enough complexity to make me curious about their motivations. Whether that develops into a genuinely engaging story or remains primarily a vehicle for provocative encounters is something we’ll have to discover.
With only five episodes, though, I hope the writers give us something substantial to invest in beyond the undeniable heat between these two men.
For now, I’m interested enough to continue watching, but I’m withholding judgment on the story. The chemistry has arrived. I’m waiting to see what the writers do with it.

This is a 'grab all you can' steamy, mess of a show, for all of us smuthounds
That grab (gulps)...you could almost feel it.....lololol...this is a full-on red flag, ravenous, smutty show that doesn't mean to be 'right' in any way...the constant blurring of boundaries, carnal advances, almost bordering on harassment only flies because both the leads seem to be into it....in other words don't go watching this one if you get triggered by red-flag behaviour.Bl-Needle Score: 8.5 High BL-ness
The boss bullies, pricks, tempts and manipulates his new rookie employee who worships him,...all to rile him up and prime him for the picking....what boss tramples on his junior in front of entire team just so that they can be 'fierce' with them in private!! The synopsis promises a competitor to boss and with that, it can only get messier...you get the drift I guess...lol
This is a no-brainer, smut show and the smuthound in me loves it so far...but don't go looking for logic in this
Verdict: Yes, watch if you like messy smut!!
