Where's the music? What should have been the focus, it was left in the background
"Trot Lovers" it's a drama about Chun Hee, a young woman who has to take care of her father and young sister. She meets Joon Hyun, a former popular singer and in the beginning the two fight like kids, but then Joon Hyun decides to her help become a trot singer. The drama was supposed to be about music, but there's just a few moments with Chun Hee singing. I really thought it would have more competitions between Chun Hee and Soo In, to make sense about the rivalry, but there's only one. The songs are really good, that's why I wanted more. If the drama had focus on that, I honestly think it would have been an amazing production, to focus on the trot music, explore more about that.
The whole amnesia thing was just ridiculous and unnecessary.
The romance just didn't work, the two actors don't have chemistry in scene. I actually liked Chun Hee more with Geun Woo.
There's nothing really bad about the drama, it's easy to watch, but also there's nothing impressive. It's something you watch and forget very easily.

I started watching this drama extremely excited for it- I'm a fan of Apink and Eunji's acting, but this drama just didn't cut it. It seemed like they ran out of story line after maybe the first 7 episodes and they just didn't know what to do with the end. Some of the story lines were just too dragged out and I almost dropped this drama half way through, if it wasn't for Eunji I would have. The acting was good but they could have done so much better with the story line.A good this about this drama was the female leads little sister- she was cute and provide so funny moments throughout the drama. Also the cute moments when the male lead comes to eat at their house it one of the highlights of the drama.
SORT OF SPOILER HERE:
The amnesia storyline was unnecessary- it didn't add anything to the drama and just made me frustrated. It wasn't well executed and just left me confused.
SPOILER END
Overall I would only recommend this drama if you're a fan of any of the actors and are willing to sit through a not so good second half. It wasn't too bad but mostly it was only memorable for Eunji's vocals and the shitty story line. The drama isn't so bad but I wouldn't recommend it, there are some cute moments but there weren't enough to 'save' the drama.

The features of trot music are brought out subtly in this drama.
I was pleased and surprised when I found that "Trot Lovers" or 'Lovers of Music" had come to my area of Canada. I adore music and this is a fun musical, full of the female lead singing with her heart in her voice! 💖Trot is a short variation of foxtrot and is known for its two beat elements. It has an upbeat tempo, repetitive rhythm and vocal inflections. Trot was created during the Japanese colonial period and was focused on tragic lyrics until the 90s with the rise of K-pop. To keep pace with K-pop, trot turned into exciting music for entertainment value. Its rhythm presents sad reality in a fun, lively way using percussion instruments. 🎸🥁🎺🎻🎷📻
The features of trot music are brought out subtly in this drama. A family has faced tragedy but rises above it through optimism, never gives up, and loves with dedication in spite of all life throws at them.💨💣
I found the love story was typical, but that's what I find reassuring about K-drama. No matter what happens in the world, I can relax in the familiarity of boy meets girl, falls in love, and faces many obstacles which bring them closer together.🙆♂️🙆♀️
I enjoyed the cast, was thoroughly entertained, and reveled in the music. The ending holds true to trot music: upbeat and celebratory. There were some lovely romantic moments as the main couple's lives intertwined.
The male lead had huge leaps in character growth while the female lead stayed true to herself as her fortunes steadily improved, but she remained a good, honest, kind person. I say, give me some predictability in today's chaotic world as I continue to be one of the "Lovers of Music."

Can't stand the main lead actor
Here's why I dropped this series:1 I thought at first that it would be fun and was ready to binge watch it. Then I realized that I couldn't stand watching the main male lead. I found his acting awful and his appearance ridiculous. I couldn't imagine watching another 15 episodes with him even if the story improved. Sometimes it's many things don't work but some other times one thing is enough to make you drop a series. With so many choices I don't intend to waste my time.
