'If Wishes Could Kill Season 2': Director Park shares what he wants to explore in new installment
tvN's new weekend drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty is taking Netflix by Storm.

Premiered on August 23, the time-slip rom-com ranked No. 1 on Netflix in 40+ countries shortly after its release.
According to FlixPatrol, Bon Appetit, Your Majesty topped the charts in over 40 countries within its first week of release and entered the Top 10 in over 90 countries — Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Egypt, India, Ireland, Italy, Kuwait, New Zealand, Lebanon, Kenya, Jamaica, Peru, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, United Kingdon, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Taiwan, among others — on the global OTT Netflix, as of August 26.

Bon Appetit, Your Majesty follows French chef Yeon Ji Young (Lim Yoon A), who time-slips into the Joseon Dynasty, where she struggles to please the palate of the tyrannical King Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min).
After just two episodes, the drama has received favorable responses from viewers around the world. While reviews such as, "It was really good! There may be similar plots, but this work has its own unique charm. The comedy is great," and "The first two episodes were fantastic. I was hooked right away. The pacing was sharp, and the balance of humor and drama kept pulling me in. There are playful, yet at times surprisingly tense moments," are plenty, there are also critical views of the now-familiar time-slip trope in Korean dramas. One netizen harshly remarked, "Basically the 786th recycled Korean time-slip drama," while another complained, "I can't stand how naïve the female lead is." Still, such negative opinions remained in the minority.
Praise is also pouring in for the K-drama's comedic elements. Along with comments such as "Yoon A really fits the comedy genre well," responses like "This drama is silly and fun. Give me more!" have been circulating on social media.
Reviews of the cooking scenes have been especially sizzling. A comment reads: "The filming techniques during the cooking sequences are dazzling. The food and cooking scenes are my absolute favorite."
As such, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is winning over global audiences not only for its fun premise, but also for its time-slip and food themes infused with Korean sensibilities. Its seamless blend of rom-com and culinary has brought about a resonance that transcends borders and cultures.
Bon Appetit, Your Majesty is streaming on Netflix.
