Actress Gu Hye Seon has shared updates from her life in the Himalayas.
On May 5, the 41-year-old actress posted several photos on her social media along with the message: "Acclimating to altitude at 4,300 meters in the Himalayas… Victory!"
The pics showed Gu Hye Seon in the Himalayas, adapted to the high altitude, posing in a bright and cheerful mood. Smiling brightly, she expressed both anticipation and excitement about life in a new place.
The actress departed last month for an expedition to Kanchenjunga in the Himalayas. The actress is reported to have embarked on this expedition out of a desire to wish success to the South Korean national football team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Gu Hye Seon is a South Korean actress, filmmaker, singer-songwriter, and artist known for her multi-faceted career that extends well beyond acting. She first gained public attention in the late 2000s through popular television dramas and shot to fame after portraying Geum Jan Di in the KBS2 series Boys Over Flowers, starring alongside Lee Min Ho. The series became a major hit and significantly boosted her popularity across Asia.
In 2016, she was confirmed to be in a relationship with actor Ahn Jae Hyun, with whom she worked in Blood. The couple legally registered their marriage on May 20, 2016, and held their wedding ceremony the following day, May 21, 2016. However, their marriage soon ended amid a widely reported controversy during which Gu faced significant criticism. On September 9, 2019, Ahn filed for divorce at the Seoul Family Court, and it was officially delivered to Gu on September 18, 2019.
After confirming her divorce from Ahn in July 2020, Gu Hye Seon expanded her activities beyond entertainment into business as well. Recently, she garnered attention for losing 14kg and regaining her "ulzzang" (best face) visuals. She is also reported to have launched a business selling hair rollers, a product she patented.
