Jung Ye In reportedly eyed as Ha Young's replacement in 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call'
Cha Tae Hyun takes passengers carrying various stories on board in Your Personal Taxi.
Your Personal Taxi is set against the backdrop of a taxi that only picks up passengers who have made reservations. The series follows taxi driver Go Gi Sa (Cha Tae Hyun) as he picks up passengers, each with their own story, and takes them to their destinations while playing the music they have requested.
The drama is structured as an omnibus series, featuring various characters who get into Go Gi Sa's taxi, from Yeon Woo (Lee Jae In), a part-time worker wearing a mascot costume at an amusement park, to Gye Hyang (Im Se Mi), a night runner who runs along the Han River alone late at night.
The story also features Dae Il (Hyun Bong Sik), a barista at a Neapolitan-style espresso shop who cannot let just anyone cut his hair because he has four hair whorls on his head. Meanwhile, Mina (Mimi), a girl who loves bread, sets out on a long-distance trip with Go Gi Sa in search of a famous bakery.
DJ Jackie Jackie Chang Sik (Joo Jong Hyuk), who loves vintage items that belonged in his father's wardrobe and LP records, opens up about his tastes and memories. The story of Young Ran (Ye Ji Won), a forgotten actress who longs for the days when she was the center of attention, also fills one episode.
Seok Joo (Lee Kyu Hyung), now an ordinary middle-aged man who still cherishes memories of being known as the "Deux" of Buknam High School with his best friend during their school days, takes time to look back on his past. On the day his youngest daughter gets married, elderly taxi driver Im Gi Sa (Im Ha Ryong) and his wife Pung Geum (Ye Soo Jung) reserve Go Gi Sa's taxi together.
The eight episodes feature the passengers' individual stories alongside the music they personally request. Cha Tae Hyun plays Go Gi Sa, the taxi driver who connects the overall story as he listens to the passengers' tales and takes each of them to their respective destinations.
The Korea-Japan co-produced production Your Personal Taxi was selected as the first drama invited to the 22nd Jecheon International Music & Film Festival. The eight-episode series will be released in its entirety on Netflix and FOD, the OTT platform operated by Japan's Fuji TV, on October 1.
