Kim Sae Ron's posthumous film 'Everyday, We' confirmed to premiere in 2026
Choi Min Sik and Han So Hee are the main leads of the Korean remake of the Hollywood film The Intern.
According to bntnews and the Korean Film Council on August 1, Choi Min Sik and Han So Hee are both confirmed to be the main leads of the upcoming film Intern. Reports stated that the production filming will begin by September.
Intern will revolve around a young CEO in her 30s who started a business and became successful after only 1 year and 6 months. She then hires a 70-year-old intern who has a lot of work and life experience. It will depict the story of the original film of the same name, directed, written, and produced by Nancy Meyers. The original film starred Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway.
The upcoming Korean remake will be the latest project of director Kim Do Young, who also created the 2019 hit film Kim Ji Young: Born 1982.
The Korean remake Intern will be the joint work of Anthology Studio and Warner Bros. Filming for the upcoming Korean remake is reportedly set for September, though an official release date has not yet been confirmed.
Choi Min Sik will play the same role as Robert De Niro's character, Ben Whittaker. Ben is a 70-year-old widower who, after seeing an ad for an internship, entered the company as an intern.
This will be the follow-up film of Choi Min Sik after the hit 2024 movie Exhuma. The actor will also make a special appearance in the upcoming movie No Other Choice. The actor is also set to return to the small screen with the upcoming Netflix original K-drama Notes from the Last Row with Choi Hyun Wook, Jin Kyung, Huh Joon Ho, Kim Yoon Jin, and Han Ji Eun.
Han So Hee, on the other hand, will play the role of Anne Hathaway's counterpart, Jules, in the Korean remake. She is a successful CEO in her 30s who has grown her company to 220 employees in just 18 months. A strong leader, Jules struggles to balance her demanding career with her family life.
Before the year ends, Han So Hee will star in the upcoming film Project Y with Jeon Jong Seo, Kim Shin Rok, Kim Sung Cheol, and Oh My Girls' YooA.
