Gu Hye Seon speaks out against public discussion of her divorce from Ahn Jae Hyun

Actress Gu Hye Seon shared a lengthy message on her personal social media, expressing her frustration with the ongoing public discussion of her divorce from ex-husband, actor Ahn Jae Hyun.

On August 8, actress Gu Hye Seon called out to the media and entertainment programs for repeatedly bringing up her divorce. She expressed her frustration, stating that their divorce is not a topic for public entertainment and that the constant discussion is personally harmful to her.

Gu Hye Seon has issued a statement expressing her frustration and pain over the media's continued focus on her divorce, which happened five years ago. She believes it is a violation of journalistic ethics to repeatedly use her divorce as a headline, especially since she and her ex-spouse had an unspoken agreement not to discuss the details publicly. 

She sees ongoing jokes, indirect comments, and sensational gossip programs as cowardly acts that inflict "secondary harm" and show a lack of conscience. Gu Hye Seon concludes by asking for empathy, reminding everyone that she is a person with feelings, not a subject for public amusement, and she hopes her ex-spouse will be allowed to build his own identity separate from their past relationship.

Gu Hye Seon and Ahn Jae Hyun got married in 2016 and ended their relationship in 2020. They finalized their divorce in 2020 through a court-mediated settlement.

Just yesterday, Gu Hye Seon revealed that construction on her new office is complete. She also told fans that she plans to open her new business and greet everyone in September. The actress is currently the CEO of her own venture company.
