Recently, a contractual dispute between Chinese short drama actress Liu Nian and her management agency has attracted attention on Chinese social media.

Reportedly, according to a former employee of the company, the original contract between the two parties stipulated an equal 50-50 split of earnings. After Liu Nian rose to fame, she proposed changing the arrangement so that she would receive 90% of the earnings while the company would receive 10%. After the company rejected her proposal, she stopped responding to staff messages. In mid-to-late September 2025, she unilaterally sent a contract termination letter and blocked all company employees.
