Jang Ki Yong and Oh Jung Se have been confirmed to star together in MBC's upcoming drama Law of the Line (literal title).
On October 19, MBC announced that Jang Ki Yong and Oh Jung Se have been confirmed as the lead actors of its new Friday-Saturday drama Law of the Line. The drama is scheduled to air in the first half of 2027.
Law of the Line is an office drama about Tak Do Il, a bank employee with no backing or personal connections, who ventures into corporate politics. It explores the organization's internal power structure, focusing on competing interests over control of the bank's management and personnel decisions, as well as rivalries and betrayals between factions.
Jang Ki Yong will play Tak Do Il, a bank employee at Nara Bank. A regional university graduate, Tak Do Il has no particular background or connections within the organization. However, his ability to assess situations and negotiate allows him to disrupt the bank's internal power dynamics. A major storyline follows his entry into the competition on his own terms, without relying on established connections or factions.
Oh Jung Se will play Chun Kyung Ho, the vice president overseeing Nara Bank's Sales Group. A high school graduate, Chun Kyung Ho has risen through the ranks to become vice president and is now a strong candidate for the bank's next president. Having established his influence within the organization, he finds himself at the center of the race for the bank presidency.
In particular, Chun Kyung Ho becomes entangled in complex, competing interests with Tak Do Il, who has ventured into corporate politics, leading to an intense battle of wits. One of the drama's key points of interest is how the two men, from different backgrounds and occupying different positions, develop their relationship within the bank's power structure.
The production team includes director Kim Sung Yong, who helmed My Dearest and writer Eun Gi Baek. Writer Kang Eun Kyung, whose credits include the Dr. Romantic series and Gyeongseong Creature, is also on board as the creator.
