'Moving Season 2': Disney+ original begins filming
Reborn Rookie has unveiled new stills featuring Jeon Hye Jin and Jin Goo.
Reborn Rookie follows Kang Yong Ho (Son Hyun Joo), chairman of a leading corporation, who, after an accident, finds himself as soccer player Hwang Joon Hyun (Lee Jun Young) and ends up living a second life where he has to start over as a rookie employee at his own company.
In the K-drama, Jeon Hye Jin plays Kang Jae Kyung, Chairman Kang Yong Ho's daughter, and Kang Jae Sung (Jin Goo), his son, who fiercely compete for the seat of the successor.
Kang Jae Kyung is the president of Choi Sung Chemical, a subsidiary of the Choi Sung Group. She is a woman with an intense competitive drive and an obsession with Choi Sung Group. Once she sets her sights on something, she makes sure to obtain it by any means. Her cold-bloodedness is evident when, after Kang Yong Ho's sudden accident, she immediately moves to seize control of the Choi Sung Group.
Whereas Kang Jae Sung, unlike Kang Jae Kyung, has a modest demeanor, but by virtue of being the eldest son, he keeps his position as president of Choi Sung Corporation, one of the group's core subsidiaries.
Having been compared to Kang Jae Kyung throughout his childhood, Kang Jae Sung has developed a deep inferiority complex, and as Kang Yong Ho's eldest child, he uses the network he has built and the strong backing of his in-laws as weapons to aggressively shake up Kang Jae Kyung.
Though they are twins, the starkly different temperaments of the two are clearly evident in the stills. Kang Jae Kyung maintains a poker face and exudes elegance wherever she is, while Kang Jae Sung's emotions are openly revealed through his expressions.
Jeon Hye Jin stated, "Kang Jae Kyung's strength lies in her drive and passion to somehow see things through to the end and resolve [issues]," adding, "However, she doesn't hesitate to use any means or methods [to achieve her goals]."
Jin Goo commented, "Kang Jae Sung's strength lies in his human side that sits behind his seeming careless demeanor," adding, "As the story progresses, Kang Jae Sung's humanity will emerge as an unforeseen strength and shake up the entire game, so please look forward to and show lots of interest in how Reborn Rookie's story develops."
Reborn Rookie will premiere on May 30.
