Director Yoo discusses the making of 'The WONDERfools'
The Judge Returns gears up for release.
Set to premiere on January 2, 2026, The Judge Returns follows a corrupt judge named Lee Han Young (Ji Sung), who had lived as a slave to a powerful law firm, as he returns 10 years into the past and chooses to punish evils and realize justice.
At the script reading were director Lee Jae Jin and writer Kim Kwang Min, along with actors Ji Sung (as Lee Han Young), Park Hee Soon (as Kang Shin Jin), Won Jin A (as Kim Jin Ah), Tae Won Seok (as Seok Jung Ho), Baek Jin Hee (as Song Na Yeon), Oh Se Young (as Yoo Se Hee), Hwang Hee (as Park Chul Woo), Kim Tae Woo (as Baek Yi Seok), Ahn Nae Sang (as Yoo Sun Chul), and Kim Bup Rae (as Jang Tae Shik).
Ji Sung plays Judge Lee Han Young, who has been living as a servant to the powerful Haenal Law Firm. Given a second chance, he returns to his past ten years earlier and strives for justice.
Park Hee Soon takes on the role of Kang Shin Jin, the chief criminal judge at the Seoul Central District Court, who seeks to stand at the pinnacle of power. Though he first extends a hand to Lee Han Young, the two ultimately stand on opposite sides.
Won Jin A plays Kim Jin Ah, a prosecutor in the Special Investigation Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. Kim Jin Ah is a relentless prosecutor seeking revenge on the man responsible for her father's death.
Ji Sung shared, "I'll do my best to make The Judge Returns together with our wonderful cast and crew." Park Hee Soon added, "I really enjoyed reading the original work, so I'm very curious and excited to see what kind of performances each actor will bring. I'll work hard." The Judge Returns is based on a web novel of the same name — the story has recorded a cumulative total of over 102.47 million views — 11.81 million for the web novel and 90.66 million for the webtoon.
