Jun Ji Hyun has stepped down from the casting of the upcoming Korean remake of The Americans.
According to various media outlets, Jun Ji Hyun will no longer join the upcoming K-drama Koreans alongside actor Lee Byung Hun. Previously, the top actress's agency stated that they had been reviewing the K-drama but ultimately decided to turn down the series.
On October 4, Jun Ji Hyun's agency PEACHY Company confirmed, "While Jun Ji Hyun was considering Koreans, we made the final decision to turn down the offer."
Reports stated that Jun Ji Hyun has decided to drop out of the upcoming K-drama due to a schedule change. The filming for Koreans was postponed, and the actress had already finalized the filming schedule for another project she was working on, making it difficult to coordinate.
Koreans is a spy drama that will depict the story of the popular American series The Americans, set against the backdrop of the turbulent era of South Korea’s military dictatorship.
The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Ahn Gil Ho, who is known for creating the K-dramas The Glory, Happiness, Stranger, Rooftop Prince, and more. Studio AA will produce the upcoming K-drama.
Meanwhile, there are no reports yet on who will replace Jun Ji Hyun and will co-star alongside Lee Byung Hun in the upcoming K-drama.

Meanwhile, Jun Ji Hyun will reportedly lead the upcoming K-drama Human X Gumiho, in which she will work alongside actor Ji Chang Wook.
This will possibly be her follow-up work after the successful Disney+ original series Tempest. She will work alongside Kang Dong Won, John Cho, Lee Mi Sook, Park Hae Joon, and Kim Hae Sook.
Next year, Jun Ji Hyun will also return to the big screen with the upcoming film Colony.
