Director Yoo discusses the making of 'The WONDERfools'
tvN's upcoming rom-com K-drama Favorite Employee has confirmed the casting of Kang Hoon, Kim Hye Joon, and Cha Woo Min.
Favorite Employee tells the story of Nam Da Reum, a new employee who, trying to meet her all-time favorite idol, joins a company and gets involved with the company's boss.
Kang Hoon has been cast as Kang Ha Gi, the CEO of the fashion startup Apello. Kang Ha Gi is the very embodiment of "cold on the outside, warm on the inside" — a capable CEO who has successfully led Apello. At work, he approaches things with a detailed, rational attitude, but because of a newly hired rookie employee, his composure begins to waver.
Kim Hye Joon plays Nam Da Reum, Apello's new hire. Nam Da Reum has been a fan of Lee Chan, a member of an idol group, for 11 years. There, she becomes unexpectedly involved with CEO Kang Ha Gi and ends up facing setbacks in her very first experience of working life.
Lastly, Cha Woo Min takes on the role of Lee Chan, Nam Da Reum's favorite idol. Lee Chan, who went from being an idol to an actor and then an icon of the era, seems to have everything. But he lives while carrying a loneliness no one else knows about.
While expanding his activities even to the point of serving as a director at the fashion startup Apello, he ends up running into his own fan in a place he never anticipated.
Favorite Employee is scheduled to premiere in the second half of the year.
