Ryu Jun Yeol battles to reclaim his life after a lookalike steals his identity in 'Mousetrap'
The film The Journey to Gyeong-ju has unveiled new stills steeped in an unmistakably suspicious atmosphere.
The Journey to Gyeong-ju is a family revenge drama that follows four women — a mother and three daughters — who, after waiting eight years for their youngest daughter, Gyeong Ju, who never returned from a school field trip, embark on a "killer" journey.
Lee Jung Eun, Kong Hyo Jin, Park So Dam, and Lee Yeon star as leads.
The stills capture, as if flipping through a travel scrapbook, the family's eventful, bizarre journey as they head toward their destination.
Ok Sil (Lee Jung Eun) and Jang Joo (Kong Hyo Jin), both wearing dark expressions and driving an old yellow Bongo van covered in layers of blue tape on a mountainside, suggest their journey is no ordinary family trip.

Then, the four women — wearing matching T-shirts labeled "Mom", "First Daughter", "Second Daughter", and "Third Daughter" — stand awkwardly in a line in front of a warehouse, their backs turned toward the camera.

Next, the family kneels side by side before a memorial table with a cake in the middle of their accommodation, creating an absurdly incongruous mix of vacation destination and memorial ritual.

Also, the suspicious appearance of the three sisters — Jang Joo, Young Joo (Park So Dam), and Dong Joo (Lee Yeon) — as they walk through the bushes with their faces wrapped in scarves, seemingly intent on concealing their identities, deepens suspicions.

Finally, the scene showing Jang Joo and Dong Joo running through the mountains late at night in blue raincoats, clutching bags, while a group of people carrying flashlights pursues them from behind, heightens the tension over what obstacles they will encounter.

Rather than being filled with cheerful snapshots taken at tourist attractions, this record of a suspicious family trip packed with ironic moments is expected to deliver the peculiar tension and distinctive genre appeal unique to The Journey to Gyeong-ju.
The Journey to Gyeong-ju is set to premiere on August 26.
