Director Ahn Pan Seok passes away at 64
The film Jiangshi: Horror Workshop (literal title) has finalized its cast, including Ahn Jae Hong, Yoon Kyung Ho, Lee Da Hee, Kim Ji Eun, and Lee Hak Joo.
Jiangshi: Horror Workshop follows the extreme survival story of employees of Dongbang Savings Bank who head to a remote island for a workshop during a long holiday weekend, only to accidentally unseal a jiangshi (a stiff corpse from Chinese folklore) that has been asleep for 400 years.
Ahn Jae Hong plays Mu Dok Seong, the youngest employee and a senior staff member at the Manggeum branch of Dongbang Savings Bank, who was specially recruited as a former taekwondo athlete.
Yoon Kyung Ho plays Ma Pa Dong, a longtime assistant manager who never shies away from doing the "difficult" work, delivering a relatable portrayal of an office worker struggling to make ends meet.
Lee Da Hee takes on the role of Team Leader Jung Ji Sun, a versatile talent equipped with both impressive credentials and strong professional skills.
Kim Ji Eun joins the cast as Assistant Manager Yang Song Yi, who, like Mu Dok Seong, was specially recruited through a special recruitment program for taekwondo athletes.
Lee Hak Joo has been cast as Executive Director Kim Soo, the only heir to Dongbang Savings Bank.
The film is also bolstered by a lineup of veteran actors. Ko Chang Seok plays Manager Go, who heads the Manggeum branch; Kim Hak Chul takes on the role of Chairman Kim, the chairman of Dongbang Savings Bank; and Kang Ae Sim portrays exorcist Yeom, who protects Gangnyeong Island.
