The upcoming action thriller The Old Woman with the Knife, led by the veteran actress Lee Hye Young, has confirmed its release date for May 1.
The Old Woman with the Knife follows Hornclaw, a legendary assassin in her sixties, who has worked in an organization that eliminates human trash for over 40 years, and the young assassin Bullfight, who has sought her all his life.
The first of the two posters features Lee Hye Young embodying the character of Hornclaw, the legendary killer feared and revered by all assassins, and Kim Sung Cheol as Bullfight, a mysterious man who became a killer just to find her. Their intense confrontation teases gripping drama and high-octane action.
The second poster conveys Hornclaw's unparalleled charisma through a striking image of her back, with her hair adorned with a sharp hairpin — symbolizing her deadly precision.
The teaser opens with a tension-filled soundtrack and the chilling line from Ryu (Kim Mu Yeol), "Think of it this way — it's just like killing a bug." As the blood-streaked face of Seol Hwa (Shin Shi Ah) transforms into that of the legendary assassin Hornclaw in her 60s, she says, "Our work is a sacred duty — exterminating pests."
As Hornclaw gazes at herself, sensing she is no longer the same as before, Bullfight's voice follows with a chilling remark: "Isn't she just old and useless now? A piece of trash to be discarded?" The tension between them escalates as the trailer showcases their standoff — each assessing the other as both a threat and a target. "What is your true purpose for being here?" Hornclaw's sharp question foreshadows the fierce showdown between the two assassins.
The Old Woman with the Knife is set to hit the domestic theaters on May 1. Watch the teaser here.
