Bai Lu's studio draws attention amid contract renewal rumors

On June 10, Lee Sang Yi's agency, Chorokbaem ENT, officially announced that he has joined MBC's upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Married Woman Killer, scheduled to premiere in July, as Lee Dong Jin, a lieutenant in Violent Crimes Team 2 at the Southern Police Station.
Based on the popular KakaoPage webtoon of the same Korean name, Married Woman Killer follows the secret life of a mysterious assassin hiding behind the facade of an ordinary working mother.
The K-drama also stars Kong Hyo Jin, Jung Jun Won, and Sung Dong Il in lead roles.
In the drama, Lee Dong Jin is a detective who deeply understands the pain of crime victims. Believing in justice through the law rather than personal revenge, he relentlessly pursues the elusive killer known only as "Kingfisher", driven by an unwavering conviction to bring the criminal to justice. Through the character of Lee Dong Jin, who possesses tenacious determination and a strong sense of justice, Lee Sang Yi is expected to serve as a key force in driving the drama's tension and suspense.
Lee Sang Yi's recent projects have also drawn considerable attention. He portrayed Hong Woo Jin in Season 2 of the Netflix series Bloodhounds, delivering high-octane action sequences. The series was widely loved, topping Netflix's Global Top 10 Non-English TV Series chart.
He also made a special appearance in the TVING original The Legend of Kitchen Soldier. Despite his brief screen time, he left a strong impression and was praised for delivering an impact that went far beyond that of a typical special appearance.
Meanwhile, MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama Married Woman Killer is set to premiere in July.
Having demonstrated steady growth with eye-catching performances across genres throughout his career, expectations are high as to whether Lee Sang Yi can add another signature role to his filmography through his portrayal of the tenacious detective.
