The Lee Yi Kyung controversy has many people questioning the actor's future and his variety show appearances.
Just recently, alleged screenshots of Lee Yi Kyung's explicit DMs and KakaoTalks to a woman, allegedly showing requests for body photos and breast size, went viral across online communities before the original post was removed.
Lee Yi Kyung's agency denied the rumors, announcing it is preparing legal action for damages from the spread of false information.
Even after the denial, public attention remains fixed on the controversy, with widespread speculation over whether Lee Yi Kyung will continue his broadcast appearances.
Lee Yi Kyung is currently a regular member on the programs I Am Solo, Hangout with Yoo, and it was recently announced that he will be the MC of The Return of Superman.
With the alleged conversation unverified, program officials are reportedly observing the situation instead of taking immediate action to remove or edit Lee Yi Kyung from their shows. If the claims turn out to be true, Lee Yi Kyung will possibly face removal and editing from the programs. Meanwhile, if they are false, major public backlash against the practice of spreading unverified online claims is expected.
Aside from the variety programs, Lee Yi Kyung's upcoming acting works are also in danger. He is expected to star in the upcoming movie Generational Regret with Jung Jae Young. He will also star in the upcoming K-drama It’s You, Out of the Blue with CNBLUE's Jung Yong Hwa, Hong Seung Hee, Han Chae Ah, and Park You Na.
This year, Lee Yi Kyung made a cameo appearance in the K-dramas Mary Kills People and Confidence Queen. He didn't officially star in any K-dramas for 2025. However, he is active in the entertainment program Hangout with Yoo as a regular member. He also led the movie Hitman 2 with Kwon Sang Woo, Jung Joon Ho, Hwang Woo Seul Hye, Lee Ji Won, and Han Ji Eun.
