Lee Young Ae once again extended her generosity by donating to a Thai student in Korea who is in need of medical treatment and transportation funds.

On November 14, Chonnam National University (CNU) revealed that actress Lee Young Ae extended help and donated ₩10 million (approx. $7,500 USD) to assist a Thai student named Sirinya at the university. The funds will cover the costs of medical care and transportation back home for the student, who is in a coma due to a brain hemorrhage.

The student, Sirinya, attends CNU’s Language Education Institute for Korean language studies. Since July, when she was found unconscious and diagnosed with a subdural hemorrhage, she has been in a coma and requires intensive care.

It was revealed that Sirinya's family was struggling to pay for her hospital and transportation costs, so the school's volunteer student group, Rhythm of Hope, started a fundraising campaign. The group aimed to raise ₩9 million, but with the help of fellow students, teachers, and local citizens, they have doubled that amount.

After finding out the situation, Lee Young Ae was moved by the cause and also gave and donated ₩10 million. The actress also encouraged the volunteer student group and shared, "My gratitude goes out to the students for their kind actions."

As Sirinya remains unconscious and relies on life support, Korean Air is facilitating her return to Thailand. The airline has allotted five seats for oxygen and medical devices and promised full support for the repatriation process.

It was revealed that Sirinya is scheduled to return to Thailand on November 15 at 7 PM KST.

Lee Young Ae is set to return as Dae Jang Geum in the upcoming K-drama The Righteous Woman, Dae Jang Geum. She will reportedly work alongside director Kim Chang Ju (Amazon Bullseye) and writer  Oh Sang Ho (The Manipulated, The Roundup: No Way Out, and Taxi Driver).

This year, Lee Young Ae returned to the K-drama scene with the series Walking on Thin Ice. She worked alongside Kim Young Kwang, Park Yong Woo, Bae Soo Bin, Kim Shi Ah, and Oh Yeon Ah
