Park Ji Hoon declines boxer role
Actor Jung Woo Sung's agency has dismissed allegations that praise posts about his acting were plastered across online communities as part of a viral marketing campaign, stating that the claims are "completely unfounded."

On January 14, Artist Company released an official statement, stating, "The viral marketing allegations are absolutely groundless."
Jung Woo Sung has recently starred in the Disney+ series Made in Korea, where he portrayed prosecutor Jang Gun Yeong. Immediately after the K-drama's release, some viewers expressed mixed reactions, pointing to what they described as exaggerated gestures and laughter. Comments included, "It feels somewhat awkward and forced," and "It comes across as acting that breaks audience immersion." However, other viewers responded, saying, "It seems like an intentional choice that fits the character," and "It makes sense when you look at Jang Gun Yeong's narrative."
At the same time, posts praising or defending Jung Woo Sung's performance in Made in Korea were uploaded across online communities, including some mom cafés. Following this, netizens raised suspicions of public opinion manipulation and viral marketing, citing reasons such as "the posts share the same format and posting dates."
However, a representative from the actor's agency firmly states that the allegations are completely unfounded.
Made in Korea is set in the 1970s and follows Baek Ki Tae (Hyun Bin), a man driven by ambition for wealth and power, and prosecutor Jang Gun Young (Jung Woo Sung), who risks everything to stop him. The story depicts the lives of monstrous individuals who came to be from this harsh and chaotic era.
Jung Woo Sung comes as Prosecutor Jang Gun Yeong of the Busan District Prosecutors' Office. Jang is a man who, in harsh circumstances, clawed his way up to becoming a prosecutor through his grit alone.

Made in Korea airs its final episode today (January 14). Stream the K-drama on Disney+.
