Nine Puzzles has released its main poster and official trailer.
Nine Puzzles is a mystery thriller that follows Yun Yi Na (Kim Da Mi), a criminal profiler who was the sole witness of an unsolved case from ten years ago, and violent crimes Detective Han Saem (Son Suk Ku), who was the lead investigator at the time and continues to suspect her as the culprit. They delve into the secrets of a serial murder case that begins again with a mysterious puzzle piece.
The poster captures attention with the piercing gazes of Yun Yi Na (Kim Da Mi) and Han Saem (Son Suk Ku), who join forces to uncover the secrets behind the serial murder case, as well as the faces of various characters scattered as puzzle pieces.
Kim Sung Kyun plays Yang Jeong Ho, the team leader of the Violent Crimes Unit 2, who carries out investigations alongside Han Saem; and Hyun Bong Sik comes as Choi San, the youngest member of the team.
Park Gyu Young and Noh Jae Won portray psychiatrists treating Yi Na's trauma, which came about in the aftermath of her uncle's death. Kim Ye Won, Kim Eung Soo, Park Sung Woong, Baek Hyun Jin, Lee Sung Min, Lee Hee Joon, and Ji Jin Hee play characters holding clues to the truth behind the case.
The trailer opens with scenes of Yi Na, who is undergoing psychiatric counseling due to the trauma of witnessing her uncle's murder ten years ago. These are intercut with glimpses of the crime scene, vividly conveying the shock experienced by Yi Na as a high school student.
The suspense escalates when a new murder occurs in the jurisdiction of Detective Han Saem, who, for the past decade, has suspected Yi Na as the culprit. Yi Na, now a profiler, becomes the first witness, once again, of the crime. Han Saem's cutting line — "How can you be the first witness to a murder a second time?" — intensifies his persistent suspicion of her.
Meanwhile, Yi Na gets a puzzle piece that perfectly matches the only trace left by the killer at the crime scene ten years ago. She tells Han Saem, "It's a serial murder. It's started again after ten years," revealing the connection between the current case and the one from the past.
Adding to the suspense are the numerous characters entangled in the case.
Yi Na's line — "Doubt yourself. That's the only way you'll find the answer." — leaves viewers questioning whether she and Han Saem will be able to uncover the truth hidden within the puzzle pieces and catch the killer.
Nine Puzzles will be available exclusively on Disney+, with six episodes releasing on May 21, followed by three on May 28, and the final two on June 4, for a total of eleven episodes. Watch the teaser here.
