Actors Park Sung Woong and Park Sang Hoon are joining forces for the upcoming MBC sports comedy K-drama Coach Maeng’s Troll (working title).

On February 25, it was officially confirmed that renowned actor Park Sung Woong and former child actor Park Sang Hoon will be the main leads of the upcoming 2 episodes one-act play Coach Maeng’s Troll. The K-drama will premiere this year. 

 Coach Maeng’s Troll will tell the story of a professional basketball coach and his hater working together to improve the basketball team's performance. 

The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Hyun Sol Ip. She is also known for creating the special series You Drive Me Crazy that aired in 2018. 

 Coach Maeng’s Troll will meet the viewers in the first half of 2025. 

Park Sung Woong will play Maeng Gong, the basketball coach of the Big Pandas. The team is in danger of missing the playoffs for a third consecutive year. Maeng Gong, once a star player, is now known as a "boomer" coach.

This will be the third confirmed upcoming K-drama of actor Park Sung Woong. He is also expected to join the cast of the upcoming youth comedy K-drama I Believe You with NCT's Jeong Jae Hyun, Lee Chae Min, Jeong E Suh, Kim Sun Young, and Yoon Gyung Ho.

He will also make a special cameo appearance in the upcoming Disney+ original K-drama Nine Puzzle.

Park Sang Hoon will portray the role of Go Hwa Gin, he is the number one hater of  Coach Maeng Gong. He hides under the username "Maeng Gong Extinction Squad" and criticizes the coach through comments. He is a high school senior and also got at basketball. 

Meanwhile, the former child actor is currently starring in the Channel A K-drama The Witch. He stars alongside Park Jin Young, Roh Jeong Eui, Lim Jae Hyeok, Jang Hee Ryung, Jang Hye Jin, and Ahn Nae Sang

He also recently appeared in the historical K-drama The Queen Who Crowns
