Red Velvet's Ye Ri to become a female diver in a new K-drama!

Red Velvet Ye Ri's next upcoming K-drama will be Azure Spring (working title).

On December 2, media outlets reported that Ye Ri will lead the upcoming K-drama Azure Spring. According to reports, she will portray the role of a female diver (haenyo) in the new series. 

Ye Ri's agency, Blitzway Entertainment, confirmed the casting reports and stated, "Ye Ri will star in the upcoming K-drama Azure Spring."

Azure Spring is a warm human K-drama that will showcase the journey of Deok Hyeon, who's unable to escape from the past and still can't move on, and Anna, who's afraid of change because she doesn't know what the future holds. The male and female divers entered the water, relying only on their natural abilities. By engaging with the ocean, they recover their life's direction, soften their hardened emotions, and appreciate the shared warmth of neighboring lives.

Ye Ri will portray the role of Seo Anna, a former national athlete who had to halt her career due to an injury. After her dreams were shattered, she decided to return to her mother's hometown, where she met Deok Hyeon and pursued a new dream.

Aside from Azure Spring, Ye Ri will also join the cast of the upcoming K-drama Insiders. She will work alongside Lee Sung Min, Bo Na, and Shin Seung Ho. 

This year, Ye Ri returned as Baek Je Na in Bitch x Rich Season 2. She worked alongside Lee Eun Saem, Lee Jong Hyuk, Yoo Jung Hoo, Jang Sung Yoon, and Park Shi Woo.

She also starred in the movie The Ghost Game with Lee Chan Hyeong, Seo Dong Hyun, Oh So Hyun, Kim Eun Bi, and Park Seo Yeon. 

Despite focusing on her solo acting career, Ye Ri remains committed to participating in all Red Velvet group activities.
