Idol actress Han Sun Hwa will reportedly join the cast of the upcoming Netflix original K-drama Scandal.

On February 21, media outlets reported that Han Sun Hwa would join hands with Son Ye Jin and Ji Chang Wook in the upcoming remake of the 2003 film Untold Scandal

Scandal will be the remake of the 2003 film and the story will be adapted from the French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Pierre Choderlos-de-Laclos. The K-drama will be set in the Joseon Dynasty. 

Han Sun Hwa will reportedly portray a new character not part of the original story. 

The idol actress' agency hasn't responded to the casting reports. Meanwhile, Son Ye Jin and Ji Chang Wook are both reviewing the offer. 

The upcoming remake of K-drama will be the next work of director Jung Ji Woo (Somebody, Tune in for Love, and Heart Blackened).

Scandal will exclusively air on Netflix and will reportedly have a total of 8 episodes. 

If Han Sun Hwa confirms her casting, this will be her debut on the global streaming platform Netflix. This will also be her follow-up work after the 2024 K-drama My Sweet Mobster with Uhm Tae Goo, Kwon Yul, Kim Hyun Jin, Yang Hyun Min, and Lee Yoo Joon

Han Sun Hwa was also recently confirmed to lead the upcoming film Teacher Internship. She will also join the romance film Day and Night to Each Other with Kim Min Ha, Joo Jong Hyuk, Chang Ryul, Shim Eun Kyung, and Lee Hee Joon
