Netflix has confirmed the release of Love Untangled for August 29.

Love Untangled follows the story of 19-year-old Park Se Ri (Shin Eun Soo) in 1998, who devises a plan to straighten her perpetually unruly frizzy hair to prepare for the biggest confession of her life.

Featuring a lineup of rising stars, including Gong Myung, Shin Eun Soo, Cha Woo Min, and Yoon Sang Hyeon, the film promises to evoke nostalgia for youth.

The teaser poster features 19-year-old Se Ri (Shin Eun Soo) struggling to straighten her cotton-candy-like curls.

The teaser opens with Se Ri saying, "It all started then. My hair started curling and my life got tangled right along with it." As her voice plays, a montage of Se Ri's life's twisty-turny moments — just like the curly hair she inherited from her father — leading up to her big confession flashes by.

Self-proclaimed (and widely acknowledged) as a master of confessing crushes, Se Ri devises the biggest confession plan of her life with her friends, including transfer student Yoon Seok (Gong Myung) from Seoul, to confess to Kim Hyun (Cha Woo Min), the school's most popular boy, whom she fell for at first sight. Scenes of her using every trick in the book — from dryers to hair rollers — in an attempt to create the silky straight hair bring laughs while showcasing Se Ri's bubbly, adorable charm.

Meanwhile, Yoon Seok gets roped into Se Ri's grand confession operation as soon as he transfers. Adding fun to the mix are Se Ri's friend and rival — Baek Seong Rae (Yoon Sang Hyeon) and Ko In Jeong (Kang Mi Na) — and nostalgic retro props such as cassette tapes, film cameras, and camcorders that capture the soft, dreamy sentimentality of the late 1990s.

Love Untangled will premiere exclusively on Netflix on August 29. Watch the teaser here.
