Actor Jung Sung Il has announced through his agency that he has divorced after nine years of marriage.

On October 14, Jung Sung Il's agency XYZ Studio revealed, "After a long period of discussion, Jung Sung Il and his wife have decided to end their marriage."

They shared, "The couple reached an amicable decision by mutual agreement, concluding their divorce without fault being assigned to either party. Despite ending their legal relationship, they will diligently work together to raise their child."

After dating for three years, Jung Sung Il and his wife briefly separated before rekindling their relationship and marrying in 2016, just three months after reuniting. Now, nine years later, the couple has decided to go their separate ways. They share one son.

Jung Sung Il started his acting career in 2002 through the film H. Since then, he has been active in both films and K-dramas. 

In 2023, he gained worldwide popularity after starring in the hit Netflix original K-drama The Glory with Song Hye Kyo, Lee Do Hyun, Im Ji Yeon, Yeom Hye Ran, and Park Sung Hoon. This year, he led the Disney+ K-drama Unmasked and appeared in the films Wall to Wall, Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy, and Murderer Report

In 2026, Jung Sung Il will greet viewers with two upcoming K-dramas. He will be part of the K-drama Made in Korea led by Hyun Bin, Jung Woo Sung, Won Ji An, Seo Eun Soo, and Cho Yeo Jung. He will also star in the thriller series Guardians with Lee Joo Bin

Jung Sung Il is best known for being part of the works Begins Youth, Our Blues, Moonshine, Bad and Crazy, Birthcare Center, Stranger Season 2, Woman of 9.9 Billion, The Return of Iljimae, Uprising, Project Wolf Hunting, A Frozen Flower, and more.
