Uhm Jung Hwa's third upcoming K-drama will reportedly be a female-centric thriller.
On July 24, media outlet OSEN reported that Uhm Jung Hwa got the offer to lead the upcoming K-drama The Only (working title).
Uhm Jung Hwa's side still has no response to the casting reports.
The Only will tell the story of a mother who lost her daughter to a brutal crime. She decided to take revenge for her daughter's death by cloning the murderer.
Uhm Jung Hwa received an offer to play the role of Choi Ji Won, a renowned fertility specialist. To exact revenge for her daughter's death, she decides to reproduce the killer by abandoning law and ethics after getting her hands on the killer's DNA.
According to reports, there is no confirmation yet on the broadcasting channel as well as the airing date for The Only. The filming will reportedly begin after casting has been finalized.
Before Uhm Jung Hwa greets viewers through The Only, the singer-actress will first lead the upcoming romantic comedy K-drama My Troublesome Star, which will premiere next month. She will work alongside Song Seung Heon, Lee El, Oh Dae Hwan, Jang Da A, and Lee Min Jae. The K-drama will exclusively air on the broadcast channel ENA and the streaming platform Genie TV.
Uhm Jung Hwa is also expected to lead the KBS thriller K-drama The Wife. The idol actress will also reportedly reprise her role in the upcoming Okay! Madam 2. In the original film, she worked alongside Park Sung Woong, Lee Sang Yoon, Lee Sun Bin, Bae Jung Nam, and Kim Hye Eun. There is no confirmation yet on which actors will reprise their roles alongside Uhm Jung Hwa.
