Byeon Eun A
Whenever her boyfriend leaves, or things go wrong at work, she is suddenly pulled back to the emotions she felt at nine years old, the moment she was abandoned. Her body reacts before she can control it. Nosebleeds, frozen fear, the suffocating sense that people leave because something is wrong with her. Ever since tasting that fear of abandonment as a child, she has lived with the belief that she will always be the one left behind. But when she looks at Hwang Dong Man, she begins to wonder if that fear might actually be something she can overcome.
Dong Man is a member of the famous 'Eight' group in the film industry, yet he’s the only one who still hasn’t debuted as a director even after twenty years. He talks loudly and acts like he’s someone important, which often annoys his friends, but to her, he’s fascinating. By all logic, he should be weak. Someone who has clearly been left behind and overlooked. Yet strangely, he doesn’t carry that scent of weakness she has learned to recognize so well.
Despite getting hurt by his friends and breaking down in tears, he shows up again the next day, laughing as if nothing happened. Watching him feels strangely healing, like seeing someone whose heart is still wide open, almost like a teenage boy’s. And that makes her think: this man might actually make it. And more than anything, she wants to see him prove it.
