How to play?

1. Let us have two teams; TEAM ADD and TEAM SUBTRACT.

2. We will start at 500.. The role of Team ADD is to add (+) 2 ,4,6,8,10,12----(multiplies of two )  to the current number to reach 1000 from 500..

Add team player 1: 502(+2)

Add team player2: 506 (+4)

Add team player3: 510 (+6)

Add team player4 : 518(+8)

i cant quote the whole thing (on pg 315) but essentially if the people on the same team answer  consecutively you keep adding in multiples until the opposite team answers/interrupts the streak.

One thing i'm confused about is the example seems wrong as Add team player3 should be 512 (+6) from my understanding.
