Seriously, you didn’t miss anything worthwhile. This drama is a complete disaster and a one-way ticket to toxicity. I’ve never been more irritated and disgusted by an attractive female lead than I was with this one. Since you’re still on the fence about it, I’ll give you a little spoiler: she’s all over the male lead while still pining for her ex throughout most of the series. It’s just a back-and-forth mess—love-bombing him one minute and then making him feel guilty for wanting her the next. The main problem I had with this drama, which is why I gave it such a low rating, is that it felt more like the female lead was just rebounding, while the male lead was only drawn to her looks and mistook that for genuine interest. She’s all mysterious and keeps everyone at arm’s length, making it impossible to really know her. Even he points it out in the show! Honestly, I’m glad it’s not a full 16 episodes because I don’t think I could have sat through that.

I started scrolling through my completed drama list on MDL one by one, trying to figure out if any of them had RR tags. It was a total brain drain, like seriously, I was losing it trying to recall each plot. There are 325 series on there. LOL Then it hit me—duh! I could just peek at the master RR list and scroll through it. That’s when I stumbled upon Ree's list. Total game changer, Haha!

Eye Love You was one of my must-watch dramas for 2024. I was all about the whole cultural mash-up vibe, learning and growing together—it gave me major throwbacks to the 2002 Japanese series, Friends. That show had a Korean male lead and a Japanese female lead too, but unlike Eye Love You, it was short and well-crafted. ELY kicked off strong; I mean, the male lead was just too cute with his otter obsession! I adored how he showered the female lead with food, creating this adorable connection despite their language barrier. But oh boy, did things take a nosedive once they started dating—like, we’re talking second episode here. The female lead? Ugh, watching her felt like I was watching paint dry she's so dull. The plot was all over the place, and the whole mind-reading thing? Total confusion! I was left scratching my head. And let’s not even get started on the CEO and employee dynamic; they barely did anything work-related, and she was lacking that fierce girl boss energy. Once again, you’re not missing out on much. LOL.

If they cannot perform a good kiss, they should better just embrace and cuddle because it downgrades the scene.

Yeeeee, I agree!! Not every romance needs hella kisses, intimacy is more than that! I gravitate more to historical cdramas so I definitely understand where you're coming from. Glances, brief touches, an embrace, all these things go a LOOONG way.

There's something so heartwarming about watching a male lead who is protective of his woman; it really touches my heart. Unlike Meteor Garden (2018). I dropped the series around episode four, Dao Ming Si felt too aggressive.

Have you ever found yourself glued to a screen, lost in thought? Why am I even watching this? How did I end up here? That was the haunting realization that lingered through the next eight episodes after the first. I kept telling myself there must be a reason for the female lead's behavior; surely, they would reveal it in time. Yet, her character only deteriorated further, and by the end of the series, I was left in a daze, reflecting on the 7.5 hours of my life that had slipped away, never to return. 😭🪦

Bahahahahahah, you're not wrong. I always found Netflix shows to be... okay on a good day xD generally, not a fan. Of the Netflix shows I've watched, I liked Kingdom quite a bit, Hiyama Kentaro no Ninshin which I'm not even ashamed to admit (tho I AM surprised it's a Netflix show... huh), and The School Nurse Files (even tho it wasn't good, I still loved it- RR couple FTW).
More than it being a Netflix problem, I just find a lot of those very popular shows to understandably be overhyped xD and My Name was one of them. I definitely should stick to my gut and not popularity, ahahah
