I feel like Love Scout prolly comes the closest but I haven't watched yet so I'll let those who have confirm

Domineering CEO ML + sadomasochism but it's RR? I... I am very intrigued as to how this'll work. Might just give it a try 👀 

I watched Deep love love again because I was too curious. I fast forwarded through like 70%+ of it and only watched the "RR" scenes and enough chatter scenes to get some context xD God, that plot was a messsss- the comments were as confused and they were watching the whole thing, riiiippp

Honestly, why was it shot so nicely? That thing was ARTISTIC and beautiful? And the music was amazing too. That being said I didn't find it to be RR T-T The most RR aspect is that FL seems to be a switch so she likes taking control sometimes but ML is definitely not so we get like 1 scene where she ties him up and teases him and that's it (+ the ending scene which is femdom). I will say she does well at leading her own narrative, she's not as much of a damsel in distress as other FLs in the same type of genre. Maybe if ML wasn't such a possessive, jealous and insane dom, it could've been more RR but as it stands rn, it's a no from me 😔

I was writing this while watching it and I STAND BY WHAT I SAID- however........ it was all worth it for the ending scene <3 It's giving Dong Lan Xue... IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW and if you don't, then GO WATCH DONG LAN XUE xD God what I wouldn't give for the entire drama to have been like thaaaattt- augh... 

I much prefer this ML in loser roles like in Begin Again. God, he would just absolutely obliterate a puppy role 🙏 but everyone casts him in cold/domineering CEO roles T_T I get it, he looks phenomenal in a suit but he can wear a suit and still have a big ol grin, those aren't mutually exclusive

Okay, so I am on episode 4 of love scout, and oh my goodness its been so long since I have seen a drama that truly has made me feel all of the feels. Loving this show so much

Hi... anyone here remembers a Chinese drama where 3 or 4 young male idols are kept secluded from the mainstream world and a young girl joins as their house-cleaning staff to temporarily replace an ailing grandmother who was the original cleaner and then her friends also eventually meet the idols and they get into relationships and free the idols from the trap finally... I watched this 4-5 years ago and now I don't remember the name of the drama...

Hello and welcome to the Off-Beat Watch Challenge or the Not Like the Other Dramas Challenge. 

This challenge is for folks who like atypical plots that stray from the mainstream, the anti-cliche lovers, and also for folks that might want to step out of their comfort zone and try something out of the ordinary. 

I compiled these prompts based on my own experiences of what I tend to see less of. If y'all have more suggestions, I can always add another section or make a follow-up with more off-beat prompts! 

The challenge has levels ranging from 'easy' to 'extreme'. Each level, the prompts get progressively harder and more specific. 

Now without further ado... Please carefully read through the info since this challenge differs from others!

General INFO:  
•  There is no time limit. Start whenever and take as long as you want/need!
•  Anyone can join.
•  You don’t need to do every level. Feel free to only do 1 (if you're doing only a few levels, you don't have to do the first; you can pick any).
•  You don’t need to complete the prompts in order.  
•  No TV-Shows. Specials only if they're 1 hr+
•  You can edit the format for the challenge however you see fit.
•  The challenge was meant mostly for dramas (unless otherwise specified), but you can mix movies in as well or do both.

Prompt INFO:
•  The challenge is aimed at exploring atypical themes as a prominent plot of the drama so most prompts are aimed in that direction. "Main main character" refers to the POV MC.
•  If a prompt does NOT specify "main lead/main dynamic/etc" then it means it can be applied to any lead character or a supporting dynamic.
•  If you can't find a title that you like that fits a certain prompt, you can use one of the 5 bonuses at the bottom of the list to replace a prompt with one of your own (NOTE: must still follow the off-beat theme of the challenge tho!!)
• Lists and links tagged can serve as a jumping-off point, but since these prompts are mostly main MC-focused, some might still not apply. Ultimately, I won't condemn anyone who wants to apply the prompts to any main character, but the challenge was intended to be main main character-focused. Also, you don't need to use a title from the list/tags, you can find your own as well.
•  When specifying a character's age, it's mostly just to give a general idea of what to look out for. You don't need to know the exact age of the character to use them for the prompt ^^
•  Please use the notes section to specify how the title applies to the prompt.

In this challenge, "lead" refers to the POV/main main character. Usually, there's a clear MC in most stories; if there are multiple with equal importance, then it can apply to any. Most prompts are main character/main story focused. Ones that aren't can apply to any supporting character (but cannot apply to guest characters).

3-5 tropes not covered in this list that fit the atypical/off-beat theme! You can also use these to switch any of the above prompts that might be either too hard, you were unable to find anything to your liking, or you simply don't watch that genre.

Two things to note:
- There's a limit to how many prompts you can switch per level: Easy = 1, Normal = 2, Hard = 4, Extreme = 5.
- The switched prompts must still follow the off-beat theme of the challenge)
