I just completely cleaned out my MDL PTW list. Now, I only have eight titles on it, two of which are currently airing, and one that hasn't even started filming yet. I decided to do a complete sweep because every time I looked at the list, it stressed me out.
With my clean slate, I think I'm going to use my MDL PTW for dramas that have not aired or have not started filming yet.
I already have a separate list of BL, J dramas, and RR titles you guys have recommended. I don't need one for Korean because most of the Korean dramas that I plan on watching have all been out for years so it's easy to look them up when I'm ready to watch something.
Oh, and I also completely wiped out my on-hold list no, I only have six titles on there I've been a busy girl XD

Finally I'm joining in the fun as well! Bonus fact: the first episode is now free on YouTube so I think the whole drama is going to drop there too. Still thank you, Arclei, for the other link. <3 But having the drama on YouTube means I can make GIFs of my favourite scenes hehe. 🤭 It's been so long since I last made them and the quality is a bit rusty but enjoy them nevertheless.
Turns out that the spoiler function doesn't work on gifs/images so spoiler warning for some scenes from the first episode!! (nothing major though)
Mix of my own thoughts and responses to all of you:
- The first scene... Wowowowow. 😲 my jaw was on the floor.
- FL is gorgeous, stunning, beautiful, the sparkly silver party dress and the jewellery suited her SO WELL
- Yeah, I hope that her fiancé won't be causing troubles... But their talk about "buying and taking" was entertaining to watch.
- I totally forgot about Xu Yawei being in the car lmao.
- I think the ML knows how to use a lighter (cut him some slack, guys), he was just too flustered by the FL already 🤭 (who wouldn't be?)
- I hate cigarettes/cigars irl but in dramas they always make them look so good lol, I love smoking scenes in dramas

the way he looks at her when she grabs his hand omg
him moving his gaze away but then looking right back at her while she watches him the WHOLE time!!- Glad to know that we're all going crazy over the comment about ML's straight back 😏
- The narration really threw me off. I didn't even think that the narrator could be (older) ML so I was like "Who are you? Why are you talking right now?"
- I loved the scene with her pulling out the gun. I just love women with any weapons. And she was so nonchalant about it, just pointing it at her brother's head, she was really done with him lol.
- What I'm looking forward to in the next eps based on the intro:
- blindfold scene ofc
- handcuffs scene in the bathtub
- their reunion after he gets back into the army (I guess it's that situation?)
- And there definitely seems to be some gunfight situation with the ML walking with the soldiers/guards on the street

Thank you also for the Gif portraying the smitten ML and his sweet gaze. It is totally worth it. I said, from her gaze, that FL wanted to have ML for dessert but I totally forgot that ML was also mesmerized by her. And I agree "who wouldn't?" She is just so beautiful and feminine and sexy.
I also love the way she made contact with ML. From Toes to face. Let's just say ML scanned her whole body before talking to her. That's a very very unusual way to meet someone. Indeed he was flustered with so much beauty on display. ^^
I also wondered who the storyteller could be. I didn't know it was old ML. Good to know. It seems there will be good morals to this story if he is the one telling it.

I honestly don't really use my built-in PTW list nearly as much as I probably could. I instead use 10-15 custom lists T_T But every once in a while I go through my CW and O-H list and remove the titles I won't be getting back to anytime soon. Both are still disasters tho, haha
But having the drama on YouTube means I can make GIFs of my favourite scenes hehe.

- "while she watches him the WHOLE time!!" - ABSOLUTE 10/10!! I actually didn't particularly notice this when I watched it but you're SO right, that's just incredible (this GIF is amazing)

Not only can they be a source of stress, but they also lack the charm and aesthetic appeal that users have grown fond of over the years with MDL, much like you have.
Your favorite dramas are often tied to specific tags that resonate with you, so why not let your list reflect those preferences? This way, you'll be more inclined to explore the titles that truly excite you, rather than the random selections you added on a whim, which often end up gathering dust on the list. It’s a classic case of out of sight, out of mind!
I also have side lists that I refer to for my recommendations, which includes my RR picks, J-Drama PTW's BL- PTW, and a random PTW list filled with dramas that I’m not quite sure where to categorize. Honestly, that random drama list is probably the one I consult the least. It’s mostly packed with popular titles from MDL that I’m on the fence about watching, even though they do catch my eye.
In contrast, the other three lists I mentioned are curated based on my personal interests and favorite tags, so I find myself checking them regularly. The numbers on those lists fluctuate quite a bit, depending on how many dramas I manage to binge in a week. I’ve thought about integrating them into my built-in MDL list since they’re always changing, I like that they won’t just sit there collecting dust. Plus, I can’t help but appreciate the cover art as I scroll through my custom list—it's the little things that bring joy.

I love smoking scenes in dramas
I really enjoy seeing female leads smoke in dramas because it adds a layer of authenticity to their characters. So many female characters come off as delicate and overly refined, rarely stepping outside the lines of what's considered "ladylike." It's funny how they can be shown drinking excessively, yet smoking is often left out. I can't help but wonder if there's some sort of regulation on how much smoking is portrayed on screen compared to alcohol. It's an intriguing thought! But honestly, I’m totally with you on this one. Those smoking scenes? They’re my guilty pleasure, especially in the Roaring 20s!

Wholeheartedly agree. I'm a visual person in this sense. I often remember titles based on their covers. With custom lists I can also add notes and links which I otherwise miss in the regular watchlist (even though there IS a function for it, it's just not easily visible unless you click).

Because drinking scenes lead to her getting unreasonably drunk and then our ML can swoop in, save the day, and she gets to confess her love without actually having any agency or involvement in her own love confession... or maybe there's another reason, idk xDD
But I agree that women smoking in dramas is 10/10, it just looks so cool and powerful. Though a couple of titles that had excessive amount of smoking admittedly tainted the general appeal for me :')
