I agree T_T I'm a sucker for visual RR but it'd be nice to have it actually play out in a deeper way too. 

To be very honest, most shows are kinda underwhelming in the RR department overall xD There's always something that's just not it, lmfao. 

I immediately had to think of Parallel World when I read your comment. From what I remember, there wasn't a whole lot of manhandling on FL's part (much to my dismay, lol) but she's very assertive and flirty and he's very shy and reserved (and babygirl so submissive). I didn't get to the part where they actually get together cuz I put it on hold for forever but it was pretty neat, ngl

I'm hesitant to recommend this one 'cause it's just not very good but The Blue Whisper: Part 1 also has a similar vibe. FL is very assertive and flirty, ML is shy and submissive but for plot reasons that changes later on :')

Goukon ni Ittara Onna ga Inakatta Hanashi also has this dynamic but more manhandling. 

Zhang Gong Zhu Zai Shang , Secrets of the Shadow Sect, and Bound by Sin also fit but they do fall into femdomcore which is fun, yes, but a somewhat diff vibe imo

I didn't think it would be a very difficult dynamic to find but I went through my RR watched list and found it to be surprisingly lacking so now idk anymore... O-O Tags weren't helpful and tbh, neither were the forums... 

My Cherie Amour seems to be like this from what I've heard. I'm waiting for my apathy period to be over so I can watch and enjoy it. I'll post about it here when I get around to it. It's Okay to Not Be Okay is also like this from what I heard, haven't watched it yet tho so can't confirm either (yay me for postponing dramas until something goes wrong and now it feels weird to watch, lol. I love that for me)

I can't think of any that fit the vibe of the GIF quite well tho... kinda sad :(

I took a peek at your CW list out of curiosity and honestly, I think that's the shortest CW list I've seen in a while. I applaud your clarity and organization! 👏👏

I completely understand. That steamy scene is just next-level good (like it's never not on my mind tbh) and the leads' dynamic was RR in a very interesting way O-O It was also better story-wise imo. ZGZZS was very short and SotSS had that second half that was not it (that reverse harem situation was so unnecessary)- the first half though? 10/10

Pickings are slim, my friend XD I like femdomcore as much as the next person but variation is good too. Something a bit more nuanced and committed, perhaps. Not viewing itself from a traditional lens? Not sure if that makes sense but I'm sure you get what I mean, hahah. Well, maybe one day. For now, we cope with what we're given (and become the change we wanna see in the world, right?). Despite what one might think due to the behaviour I exhibit, I am quite picky about my RR...

I also have the tendency to put off dramas that are hyped up for being RR- idk why... I guess my expectations get too high and I'm scared of disappointment T_T 

Ayo!! Ladies and lads, I need a bit of help! Can you recommend me dramas/movies with this theme, but in a RR setting?  Basically, I am looking for a drama where ML is dating FL or is getting romantic with FL, but hasn't completely moved on from his ex. His ex could be dead or alive, IDC, but ML and FL are somewhat or fully in an RR setting.
one example could be "a piece of your mind" or "do you like brahms" but none of these are RR. A piece of your mind has "soft puppy ML" trope but not really RR.

I am just a sucker for this trope, so I was wondering if there was any in a RR setting

OMGGGG, LITERALLYYYYYY- It's midly amusing to think about and then it gets so old and tired, I never wanna see it again T_T It's every time too... I feel like FLs get away with pining for men in general more - part of the genre, I suppose 

Yep and it isn't even limited to just one genre, it's everywhere!! Why can't leads meet as adults and have baggage and still couplize ????? Watching these shows I feel like I missed my chance at love by the time I was 7............ waaaah!!!

Babygirl kings that are at their wives' mercy, my beloved. I just love the protectiveness these FLs often exhibit and I also love seeing a man distressed (I think it's just the sucker for palace politics in me trying to compromise with my RR lover into the most RR-ness the setting might offer).

And Yesssss!!! The protectiveness is cute, and the fact that the MLs are pretty normal with everyone else and total puppies with the FLs. Men in general also being able to show a sensitive, wounded side gets me every time!

It is!! Honestly, Parallel World is one of my most favourite dramas so I hope you will like it too! (I seriously should start promoting it more on here hehe)

Once I find something super comic to balance it I will start it. I've been binging Nine Puzzles this weekend and its is soooo good! Hint of RR as well. The FL is richer, profiler to ML's detective and definitely more assertive in a wacky way.  Though its not a romance, she keeps dropping statements like "I'm kinda interested in him" which makes him crazy and also shy, I am loving his reactions.

Dang, softcore subtext RR in a mystery/thriller is something I never get tired of seeing. Kthrillers really love this approach and I can't fault them. Keep it coming, Korea! 

I was already interested in the drama as is, now I'm definitely watching it! ^^
