I've been binging Nine Puzzles this weekend and its is soooo good! Hint of RR as well. The FL is richer, profiler to ML's detective and definitely more assertive in a wacky way. Though its not a romance, she keeps dropping statements like "I'm kinda interested in him" which makes him crazy and also shy, I am loving his reactions.amdream_weaver:

Yep unfortunately in representing a heavily male workplace, the whole drama kinda gets overrun with testosterone. I have to say though there is barely 10 min of screen time for them, they did create the profiling unit as 75% female.
Jeez halfway through the show and she's literally invited herself into his place as their " base camp" to investigate on the side. There's one I haven't heard before. LOL

UGH yes!! It's a problem in crime/thriller/action genre in general, tbh. The cast is 95% men and if you're lucky you have a FL (they're then like the token woman of the team). To add insult to injury, the victims are often only women tho... T_T Kinda hard to buy it's not anti-woman with such stats but I digress. Exceptions to this are unfortunately few :(

It definitely is XD I got my fam into cdramas and they've never been the same since. The only downside is that I'm a 2-3 eps per day kinda person and the rest of my family is a 7-8 eps per day kinda people, lmfaoo

I seem to have hit a bit of a slump (I say that as if I've really enjoyed anything in the past year) so I moved onto different media in an attempt to fix or reset it but unfortunately not great results so far ToT
I went ahead and compiled a bunch of comics and books I wanna read but it feels daunting now, however, that did lead me to find a lot of RR recommendations, at least for anime, books, and manga which means that the recommendation lists in the index were updated (yay!!). I even found a goodreads RR club so once I make my account, I'll have a place to lurk (I feel like it might be from Ree since it links to their RR list on here but I'm not sure).
That's about it for me lately, tbh, feeling weird.

I haven't watched a drama since last month and at the time I only watched like a docu and some short films. I did start to watch Zang Hai Zhuan but for now it's on-hold. I'd like to go back to dramas but right now I'm okay with reading books more.
Been watching more YouTube lately though. It's not that good but it's passable.
Waiting for the other shoe to drop or for me to finally watch dramas again. Whichever comes first at this point. I still have exams IRL to take care of, but getting there.
Maybe after I finish exams I'll be more free to pursue my interests and hobbies and learn new things. So far I feel paralyzed in inaction.

| Y'all, the commitment to the RR was immaculate. FL saves her man like all the time and get this, he doesn't have last-minute cool powers or badassery. He's just her love interest mommy bf, liiiike O-O There's also ML's contractor (iykyk) who's a woman, v nasty and possessive and gives us angsty moments for the leads If you need a fix of RR done thoroughly, I can't recommend this enough. The portrayal was spot on, the songs are also pretty good (with some RR undertones which we love) and the cinematography was really nice... however, I will say that it's a bit on the campy side and the biggest issue for me was that it was kinda lacking writing-wise, especially the finale. A lot of time was spent on the relationship between the leads which though yay for us, made that ending feel rather unfinished and imo not well-handled at all. I think it would've worked better as a novel, miniseries, or at least a longer film. Also ending spoiler for those that need cuz God knows I would've... It's a sad ending (should've seen that coming but I'm delulu). more details: She goes to save him but loses him anyway like in the myth, then they both die off-screen in an explosion :) It actually pissed me off so much how they handled this that I might just write fanfiction and fix it, lmfao. I will now spend the rest of this week turning 50% of the movie into GIFs because fsr tumblr is being way too quiet about it ^-^ | |
