not without flaws, but I’m still looking forward to this every week. it doesn’t hurt that Ongsa is super beautiful. ❤️
"i did think it was a bit abrupt with the couple almost kissing at the end, even if they were lovers in a past life."
This is how I perceived this episode: I kind of felt the same way, initially, but they closed out the episode with a hard cut at the very end before they ever kissed, so I am reserving my thoughts on this until ep 4 comes out, as I feel like it may be a teaser for the start of that episode. I speculate that Khao "might" stop it and pull away or something else happens where they never complete the kiss to continue the tension a little longer.
But, as you said, they shared a past life, a rather intense past life from what we've seen so far. While not explicitly stated as immortals or demigods themselves, they were serving gods as humans with supernatural abilities from what we know so far. I feel like that unique powerful connection between beings like this with their history is starting to override their current antagonistic human state of mind towards each other as more of their connection and past is being revealed to them.
That said, I always appreciate spending a meaningful amount of time on the connection and closeness development between characters in a BL. Most recent and PERFECT example of this was Jimmy & Sea in My Magic Prophecy. My god that progression between them from the start to the end throughout the series was sheer perfection, but it also was a series where the connection, closeness, and love development between them was a major focus. Imo, while MMP has a supernatural element to it that is an important aspect of the story, the relationships between the characters are the prevailing focus. In TCL, so far at least, it feels like the relationship between them is running tandem to the supernatural part of the story. This may change as we get deeper into the series, so I'll update my view on that as we see where it goes.
