Quantcast

I can’t stop watching clips of this week’s Duang with You. I also watched the last ten minutes over about six times. I might have gone from enjoyment to obsession. Lol. IYKYK.

Have you seen the reaction videos! North is the ultimate shipper! It’s so fun seeing how everyone reacts!

this one seems to show the most people’s reactions. Others shows TeeteePor more but I especially like seeing Thomas as well as the actual cast.

I don't usually watch reaction videos, but I might have to make an exception. (North is so cute when he gets all hormoned up. His flirting with Otto was probably my favourite thread within "Third Chapter". It sure makes me want to believe that North/Otto is real!)
ETA: Well, that was a very short video. I thought it was going to be one of those things where the actors watch the whole episode together.

Regarding "Duang" itself, it's striking how many Domundi artists/actors they managed to stuff in: In addition to the regular cast (Teetee, Por, Wave, North, Otto), also guest roles or cameos for Max, Nat, Yim, James, Phupha, Fifa, Pete and Nunew - and we're only halfway through the series, so maybe even more to come?

Or breaking down by Domundi generations:
Gen. 1: Max, Zee, Mark, Poppy, Park, Jimmy, Tommy = 1 of 7
Gen. 2: Nunew, Nat, Tutor/Yim, James, Net = 4 of 6 !
Gen. 3: Teetee, Keng/Namping, Thomas/Kong, Firstone/Tle, Latte, Gems = 1 of 9
Gen. 4: Por, Auau/Save, Patji/Ryujin, Kim, JJ, Ohmkrit = 1 of 8
Gen. 5: Phupha, Otto, North, Fifa, Wave, Pete, Porsche, Copper, Pung = 6 of 9 !
total: 13 of 39 (one thirdof Domundi artists/actors stuffed into "Duang", particularly the new Gen 5's.

Plus there are also Hugh and Thee, who aren't Domundi actors yet (emphasis on "yet"), not to mention Pepper (familiar from support roles in many other BLs, not sure where his career is heading now that he's left GMMTV but I'm guessing not BL).

P.S. Although I've callously used the expression "stuffed in", I'm lovin' "Duang" and all the cutie-patooties. No disrespect intended.

 Hannah:

I started a watch party with my best friend watching JossGawin’s My Golden Blood and honestly while I was watching it the first time I did not like it. I thought it was bad.

However this time around I am watching it with my best friend and we were both kind in a bad mood and we couldn’t watch Onlt Friend Dream On cuz we don’t have GagaOOlala.

It was the best decision we could have made cuz it put us in a silly goofy mood. We just kept quoting twilight or true blood or the vampire diaries. I lost count the amount of time we said “say it out load. Vampire”

It goes to show sometimes you just need to watch something with a friend to make you enjoy something.

PS JossGawin are so fineeeee.

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday

It's been a while since I wanted to watch it I will start it now with a Twilight kind of mindset and not take it too seriously even if I can't watch it with a friend 😁

I'm curious because it's rated higher than Revamp and I enjoyed it more than most people

For those who have seen Only Friends: Dream On Ep 2.

I wasn't imagining things, right? Rome and Raffy are switches..  Or were my eyes playing tricks on me?

Peach Lover - episode 2

I really like the artwork in this series.

this kinda makes me think of call me by your name 😅

Dangerous Drugs of Sex

i finally watched it!!!!!!!!

it was pretty good!! i enjoyed the fantasy bdsm antics, which was ofc the primary draw for me. i thought the actors both did a pretty good job with their roles and (what i’m assuming was) the direction they were given. overall, it's definitely not everyone's speed but i thought it was a fun and decently satisfying watch. there are more things i liked about it but i’m trying to be on my best behavior so we’ll leave it at that 😇

okay now i'm gonna complain lol. while i did enjoy it, i also have some thoughts 🙂‍↕️☝️

!!(spoilers ahead for both the movie and the manga)!!

so i had read the manga for this a day or so ago (i loved it) so the source material was still very fresh in my mind. they made some changes for the movie adaptation. some of them are whatever, but most of them i didn't like very much. the bulk of the movie focuses mostly on the sex scenes but there are things that happened around and in between those scenes that added a lot more depth and nuance to the dynamic between the two leads. the movie also added a real edge to ryuji's character that wasn't there in the same way in the manga. the whole beginning of the movie takes place in this like gross dirty basement with low lighting and ominous music. whereas in the manga, ryuji just keeps makoto in the bedroom of his apartment. i mean sureee he's chained to the bed but hey at least it looks clean and comfy in there 😀 but the dingy sex dungeon set definitely made the movie feel more reminiscent of an actual bdsm porno (i'm thinking of a certain production house...🤐) and tbh that did feel fun and almost kinda campy to me. that alone i'm definitely not against. however the atmosphere combined with the choice to give ryuji a more unhinged vibe i think made the movie feel like it was focusing more on shock value alone when it came to the sex scenes. the development of the relationship is also more condensed and a lot gets left out, which i think makes the ending make a little less sense. after we leave the dingy sex dungeon it almost feels like a different movie entirely. in the manga i think the balance of their relationship, and the balance between crazy sex stuff and a genuine tenderness between them, is handled much better. you get to witness a lot more of their motivations, their cevelopment, and the push and pull between them before they even out into a domestic relationship. i think the movie tries to make up for leaving this all out by having makoto save ryuji’s life at the end but imo it just doesn’t hit the same. there were also a couple other short scenes that were added just for the movie, but again i don’t think they make up for everything that was left out. basically i just personally liked their dynamic much better in the manga. while the movie still maintains some of the depth present in the original story, i just don't think it was done quite as well.

they also make the choice of swapping out ryuji's dead brother for a dead ex boyfriend in the movie. in the manga, part of the reason why ryuji is drawn to makoto in the first place is because he looks just like ryuji's older brother who had died (lol ...yeah). the brother was also named makoto and they would’ve been the same age 😐 … 🤦 sooo anyways ryuji blamed himself for his brother’s death and it haunts him throughout the story (and yes, he does think about this during sex. it becomes a whole problem and everything). but in the movie they make makoto resemble ryuji's ex boyfriend instead. who died i think via suicide and not a freak accident like the brother. i don't really have feelings about this choice either way, it's just funny to me

also the sound effects during the nc scenes were so crazy sometimes. was that really necessary lmfao

okay that’s all my thoughts. <3.

(why don’t i ever have this much to say about normal bl’s 🤨)

and since i seem to be in my manga adaptation era, i'm also watching happy of the end and reading the manga alongside it. i picked it up bc the manga is written by the same person who did yarichin bitch club lol

so far i'm liking the manga a lot more but i'm hoping the show gets better

Going to be starting Deep Night in a bit.

Hi my lovely BL buddies!

I haven't been away for long but it feels like forever! My stay is feeling verrrrrry long already after only 3 nights.  I miss home already! Waaah

I got my laptop out to show my very religious aunt some photos and the first thing that came up was Fah & Phoon on the bed. Thank the Gods they were just sitting on the bed...like brothers.  I couldn't finish EP 8 of Beside the Sky cuz the internet acted up so I kept the tab open last night to go back when I can. So I still have to finish the last 10 mins. So much for the big covert plans. 😂

Love Destiny teaser. Sometime in July

I saw an insta post for a remake of the 2016 "A Round Trip to Love" BL in the works.

A JBL "Fake Fact Lips" plans to star Kaito Hori & Yusuke Sato.

I heard "Red, White & Royal Wedding" is done filming.

Coming soon:  "Side by Side: The Waiter's Secret Recipe".

I've seen a few title names for this Chinese BL coming to Gaga soon, "Sammy's Children's Day".

I hope everyone is well. 🙏🥰

Deep Night has its flaws but I really enjoyed it anyway. I also learned about hosts clubs, which I didn’t know about before. I guess they’re popular in Thailand. Deep Night presents one view, Love Like a Bike a totally different one. It makes me wonder if there are different kinds of host clubs.

there‘s also really nice ribbon work performances in Deep Night.

I definitely liked the fact that the show was about something really different than your typical BL. It’s nice to have variety.

I wasn't imagining things, right? Rome and Raffy are switches..  Or were my eyes playing tricks on me?

I was asking myself the same question, and we’re not the only ones. On the drama page, some people were talking about it too, but they didn’t seem sure either. I’m not really sure about it myself, because even though agencies could be open to it, there are always some people who don’t react well to switch couples. For example, the PorTeeteePor couple was supposed to be a switch couple, but it didn’t really happen because of toxic people. So I’m not sure they would make Rome and Raffy a switch couple it seems risky.

Hi ! OMG I was scared while reading this. I can't imagine how stressed out you must have been.

Thanks for all the BL updates I can't wait for this one I really enjoyed the prequel.

I hope your stay there feels gradually less long and I wish you great internet connection for your entire stay (you'll need it to carry out your covert plans.)

Likewise.

I'll add one more qualification to Dora's comments: I started off very much appreciating it as something quite new - the story, the setting, the acrobatics - but as the series went along, it dragged, and I found it hard to keep my interest at the initial level. While some viewers got excited about the throuple that came up later in the series, that theme (from my youthful experience) doesn't work for me and thus didn't really get my interest. Nevertheless, I give them credit for introducing some new ideas.

+++

I just finished today's two special episodes of "Boy Next World: My Destiny" (Gaga), which (as most of the main series except the bit at the end) was pretty close to the Thai original. As with the main series, I enjoyed it because I already knew the garbled mess of a story from the Thai original and thus knew better than to pull my hair out trying to make sense of it. (Disclaimer: I might be biased because Fuu / Hamaya Takuto is a cutie-patootie.)

I also watched today's episode of "Countdown to Yes" (also Gaga). The series is probably too slow and soft for some viewers, but I'm enjoying it. (Disclaimer: I might be biased because Wataru / Amemiya Kakeru is a cutie-patootie.)
