I finished "I Told Sunset About You" season 1 and wow just wow, it was heartbreaking and beautifully perfect; episode 3 captured my heart and soul, after episode 3 it was a definite 10 for me and at the end it was a 1000/10 for me.
The emotions were so real that I feel like the audience was living and experiencing them with the characters. I loved that it was real and didn't have the predictable bl scenarios, where they like each other, become a couple, fight then make up at the end. I loved how it kept us guessing with suspense keeping it real with how the ending came after all the emotional build up. I am so looking forward to the rest of their story.
One thing though, I found Teh's feeling that his mother was not proud of him and preferred Hoon over him to be unfounded. Throughout the series her actions to me did not show that she was not proud. Even when he didn't pass for the university he gave up for Oh-aew his mother was still proud and happy. Even when he gave up his spot and his mother in anger said he should be like Hoon I believe she just said that in anger any parent (that love their children) would be angry not because of pride but because of worry for their child's future and dreams. The fact that the mother always shows off her sons proves that she was proud of them both, perhaps there you could say it built pressure to not let her down. Maybe I am not seeing it.
Can we all give a shout out though to Hoon and Bas because they were the OGs in the series.
