Yes, I agree with you. I think it's a shame. Mostly because I don't feel the same way in Thai or Taiwanese BLs. I mean, you might have those actors who seem very uncomfortable, but I think most of them don't and Thai BLs did evolve a lot in the last years. So in a way it feels like SK BLs just stay behind. I do think there is some progress, but not enough imo.

I appreciate J-BLs because you can tell that a lot of the actors take the role as any other acting gig and you see the actors doing other things outside BL seamlessly too.
Yes, isn't it the same with Taiwanese actors? they are doing all kind of works and some happen to be BLs.
It's mostly disappointing becuase it's hard not to compare SK BLs to Kdramas, now I haven't watched many Kdramas, but all those I've seen were very good imo. Just to imagine what we can get if they'll decide to finally take BLs more seriously and make them like kdramas.
