Yess Hometown romance is absolutely loveable! I had to tell you because I was responsible partly for inducing scepticism to it. It's so insanely cute, do watch ep 3 already!

This reminds me that I need to catch up with BoL, idk it's feeling a bit flat to me..but i will continue to watch it after my only sunshine is done

Yes! Thank you for that because I was really considering passing it up. Thought the title and title image really makes it seem like something I would normally hate.

Yk that scene where Si goes to visit Klao the first time and she ends up fighting with the chicken? THATS the moment I fell in love honestly

I love that Klao wasn't actually going to marry Si, she meant it as just an obvious non-criteria–she was not going to renew the contract at all. And then she realised how fun it is to push at Si's buttons, and then now we have her in the wife era where she's having fun just serving Si 😭😭❤️❤️ they're both kind of lonely in their own ways

The title put me off too, it sounds like so game. Farmville romance, something like that

And it seems they've used generative AI in the intro, that's so sad because I was vibing with it and now idk how to feel about it😭 same for the ai with the buffalo, there was no need for either of this

BUT! I love the show itself

Omg, in my drama journel under favorite parts/scenes, my first bulletin is chicken fight. 😂 Even her cleaning the table with wet wipes is just 🤌

What really sells the series for me is Si's character as a whole. Her memories of her family, her personality as a result, her giving extra money to tapeworm. Such wonderful writing for what could have been a simple character, but all the little complexities to her character and Sonya's acting for it is just perfection.

God, I'm already tired of AI. Have you seen those series created by AI!? It's getting scary how fast it's taking over. I'm worried that one day it will be more normal to watch a AI created drama than the alternative actual people dramas. 😬

And Sonya crying just hits different when you realise how she's putting on a brave face really

There's a lot of hurt in her

And I gifed the fight scene and posted to my feeds to preserve it 😂😂😂

Tbh I've never clicked on those because on an ethical basis I am against them but apparently it was the correct decision because I watched the iqiyi AI show trailer and it's so fcked up. It feels so uncomfortable to watch them

All I hope is that we atleast have a few human dramas in the future lol already iqiyi is suggesting a ratio of 4 to 14, 10 AI dramas vs 4 is more than double and 10 more than we need ot want. Im hoping the iqiyi shows flop, it's quite one thing for random people on YouTube to make these versus one of the three largest media houses of a country

There was like no need to use AI, like for the buffalo, it would have been funnier to just cut to the buffalo actually. The ai was just weird, like my brain registered the weirdness instead of the comedy

And the intro is cute as hell and for sure they had some graphic designers to smooth things because it doesn't stand out as AI but they really could have just gone with the normal intros. Nobody decides shows by the intro anyway. If it's ever on Netflix they will have to change it

Chinese lesbian dating show "LeLaLes: Fluid Love" premiers on May 20th. As one of the financial backers of this project, I'm very excited to see it broadcast. Here's the trailer:

I've submitted a MDL page for this show.

NorthStar Entertainment (house of Poisonous Love and 4 Elements) just announced 2 more GL series in addition to GinJay's Lunar Secret.

Beauty and the Bike (MewRenee)

Third Person - starring former Ch7 actress, Garn Nuttacha, newcomer Mimie Bhapat and one of Ch3's familiar supporting actresses, Piglet Charada.

Hometown Romance eps 4

e1hhu5fl54kg1.gifHalf way through and I'm already dreading the end. 😩

We might've discussed this but what's everyone's thoughts on candy? I watched the first couple eps a while back and am about to start the rest

I've finally finished "Candy". Its certainly watchable, but it is low budget and has various other issues. I thought the actress who played Si Han was excellent, but the others were not quite as good. I hope to see more Chinese GLs in the future, but I'd also like to see the quality of them improve.

My advice is watch it if you are a fan of GL dramas (which you are because you're here), but don't make it a priority over other dramas in your watch list.
