HotGeGesWife:
I watched many vertical dramas where the husband/boyfriend cheats on his wife/girlfriend.
They abuse their wives a lot and unconditionally love their mistresses. But once the wife leaves, they completely turn 360 degrees and abuse the mistress and start to love their wives.
I don't understand the logic. Why is it so? Is this how it works in real life, too?
Because only after losing something precious, people will understand the value of it. But by then it will be too late. I think there's a few song lyrics about it. Like 5566's I'm Sad, which has "Also forget to tell you that what's lost can not be regained," or the lyrics of Mayday's Like Smoke (who recently being sang together with Zhou Shen on stage). And ofc the lyrics of Passenger's Let Her Go. Never think someone will always there, will always love you; cherish them, cherish the moment. I think that's the message those vertical dramas intended for the viewers.
Irl, there's many different cases. Sometimes there's instant regret. Sometimes there'll be something drastic happened, like bankcrupty or the ex became rich then there's regret. Sometimes when the mistress started showing her true color, there's regret. Most of the times, there's no regret, but there'll be jail time and public condemnation haha, well-deserved.
