What’s for dinner?

last morning dinner was burgers ( boxed for him and black bean from a dry mix for me) and bacon ranch pasta salad ..  today we're probably doing a box of 'classic' suddenly salad instead and hotdogs before the rain starts up again in our area ,  we need the rain so its good but it sorta boxes in meals together that i'd rather space out more , with winter coming tho i know he won't wanna go out and grill.

wasn't feeling great and he was gonna make soup ( he does the sausage)  this morning and flaked out since a handy man was coming and he would be in the way ..  ended up chicken flavored maruchan ramen bowl and BLTs ...   would've rather had the good soup with the hot sausage , whole cloves of garlic, onion  zucchini ,and tomatoes but it is what it is ,.. i gave my mother my creditcard to make her red chicken soup again for me .  this time of year is the worst but i lost my eldest ferret last week and have been in bad spirits since on top of the change in the weather throwing me for a loop so hopefully the soup'll help 

thanks ,  its all too true ,  this is the 3rd of these little ones i've lost but it doesn't get any easier ,  my little girl cinnamon had lymphoma when she was only 2-3?  and left behind her cagemate spunkey ,  after about a yr i got Bear as a playmate for him but he suddenly died about 6 months later ,  i got itty bitty and ben a couple months after for bear but they're the only ones left now.  i love the little guys but they're prone to health issues due to how they're bred these days, and on top of that a vet that deals with them is hard to find so i don't think i'll get any more after these 2 pass, it too heartbreaking watching their decline at such a rate .  still bear had a longer life at least, he was past 7 and thats around the expected span of a marshall ferret.  the others are 6 and have adrenal disease so i can only help but worry about them and hope their implants are available when they need them again . ..  aside from them i've got 2 cats along with my mother's 3 in the house my fiancee says no more pewts after they all go but we'll see .  


todays' dinner turned out good ,  my mother put the right amount of stuff in the soup and didn't deviate like she sometimes does so i can't complain .  i think its helping since my phlegm isn't so bad now

Roasted brussel sprouts, carrots, cauliflower and potatoes.   Served alongside of French green lentils. 

Went out of town to visit relatives for Thanksgiving this year.   Our feast consisted of smoked ribs, carrot and squash casserole, zucchini and potato bake,  macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole,  red hot applesauce, deviled eggs, & green bean casserole.  All were made in their more decadent versions.  💀Dessert-streusel topped pumpkin pie, chocolate cream pie, pumpkin brownies, and raspberry oatmeal bars.
