I don't know. I begin a drama but I am not eager to finish it or not looking forward to finish it.

I am now just obsessed with Chinese dramas. I'm sad that I no longer have the same drive for Korean drama.

Maybe it'll come back. You'll get used to whatever is different that you like about Cdrama and then be interested in Kdrama again when you miss what's good about kdrama. Unless the grass is just greener for you on that side now (maybe because you've already seen so many of the kdrama that are great matches for your tastes, but not seen as many cdrama?).

I agree.

Maybe you could try my method: These days I usually wait until the K-drama completed before starting them and I only watch the high rated ones (8.6 and above-since 8.5 can be deceptive) except when it has my favorite actors/actress/it's a BL with interesting plot. I started Study Group today (just completed today) rated 9.0 on mdl.

And if I have any doubt about a C-drama, I usually wait until the douban rating is out.

I feel the same. They all look like teenage dramas to me.  I think I finished one or 2 last year.

yeah I barely watched any nowadays besides the latest season of Squid Game, I find older shows more interesting or easy to get into though like the last one I was addicted to was Dong Yi despite its episode length

I feel you. Same too

Yep, I was obsessed with c-dramas for a very long time and some of them are truly amazing, some of the best shows I've seen in my life. Personally speaking I'd just say run with it and enjoy yourself :).

I've never been the biggest k-drama fan myself but I always seem to end up watching one or two of their airing shows. Currently I'm getting more into j-dramas and it's a nice change of pace.

In my case it was C dramas

a few months removed from this originally posting but ...sorta?  i took a break from watching asian dramas for the most part for a few years since my partner isn't great with subtitles but i've started getting back into them sporadically in the past yr or so .   in the past tho ( ~10 years ago now)  i used to watch a ton . these days the kdramas i have watched aren't grabbing me a ton tho ,  i just finished
My Dearest Nemesis and it was pretty solid but not overly interesting at the same time which lacking chemistry ?   i've been sitting on finishing My Demon for 2 months or so even tho i'm 12eps in cause its just not that great , and others i've watched have been pretty hit n miss.     it used to be i could come to kdramas for good acting and a solid plot ,  jp ones for ok-good plot and/or humor,   and taiwanese dramas if i wanted some good chemistry/heat.  these days i have a large enough backlog that i never really know what to pick(choice paralysis is real!).

maybe i should finally give C-dramas a go after all this time of planning to but their ep/hour count always seems so daunting at least for the few i've eyeballed over the years .

True I agree. Somehow nowadays i have been finding the kdramas are falling short on the adrenaline they can provide me whether its the plot or acting. The past yr has been dissapointing. Since then i have gone full on with the cdramas watching those long 60 episodes with a fl that doesnt bend, plot which might be cliche sometimes however does give in a platter a flavourful mix of reason, laughter, healing, family, friendship, revenge, despair and triumph.

for recent kdramas I have tried hard and hard like, even if i am hooked in first few episodes calling it the remedy for next weeks, by 6-7 episode they start dissapointing soon enough. Am i just used to hardcore court politics or kdramas have really lost its charms. These past few months, i found myself retracting more into rewatching the past kdramas a lot so i dont think kdrama itself have become boring but rather its the recent flops, maybe because netflix has influenced the production ?

I think the last few kdramas that were memorable for me were the "knight flower", crash course in romance, a few family makjang dramas that i usually watch.

For me potato lab and brewery romance werent extremely dissapointing, since i at least did not give up on them unlike the the haunted palace, crushology, heo's diner, good boy etc other dramas that i have been watchign for the sake of my fav actors or the wait i did for them. Like unwritten seoul, its good but i am finding myself unattached to it now. Nine puzzles barely completed. Tastefully yours narrowly touching the mark. I often find myself rewatching kdramas like romance is a bonus book or looking for unwatched older dramas like hospital ship.

Since i couldn't properly watch when life gives you tangerine also, i do sometimes think if i have just consumed so many kdramas, now my stomach is full and upset. Not ready to accept an inch more unless its groundbreaking, and ultrashocking. Like I do agree the drama's a masterpiece but the people who have watched hundreds of kdramas would know the content and message wasn't that out of the bos or refreshing . It wasnt something not explored before. Its true story was beautifully carved out across the generations and the cinematography and direction were a chef's kiss. But from hometown cha cha cha, welcome to samdalri , lovestruck in the city, reply 1988, liberation notes, a piece of your mind, little forest, modern farmer, when the weather is fine, my mister, our blues, and the million other makjang family dramas that amazingly potray the struggles and growing of a family... like the unfamiliar family, my father is strange, and many others i am unable to recall.
Yes wfgyt was a breathrough that packaged together the best deal and makes me proud to suggest to someone to start it with. But I wasn't exactly struck dumb and numb by the concept and topics discussed in the drama, because its not the first day that kdrama has painted the warmest tale with its magical brush. They have always been extraordinary at its dramamanship. The politics or mindset of the people or how things go on there might not be my cup's tea but i respect how developed the tv industry of both china and korea.

So now i have switched to cdramas which have a million of genres and being a bigger country, has much more shows and speed. From short dramas to the big ones, there are many to choose from if i get bored.
